Marzuki bin Haji Yahya (born 4 September 1970) [1] is a Malaysian politician. He is a member of the Parti Bumiputera Perkasa Malaysia (PUTRA),a former member of the Homeland Fighters' Party (PEJUANG) and its Deputy President from August 2020 to his resignation in January 2023,and a former member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) and its Secretary-General from September 2018 to his termination from position in March 2020. He served as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020 and Senator from July 2018 to July 2021.
Marzuki had been accused of making a false claim that he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Cambridge via distance learning. [2] However,it was later revealed that the University of Cambridge does not offer any distance learning degree. He later clarified that he in fact obtained his degree from Cambridge International University,which is not affiliated or related to the University of Cambridge. [3] Cambridge International University was reportedly a non-accredited institution [4] and a diploma mill. [5]
Marzuki's involvement in the political arena began in 1998 when he was appointed as the Treasurer for United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) Youth Bagan Division. [1] After holding several other posts in UMNO,he eventually left the party and became one of the founding members of then-opposition PPBM,led by former UMNO President,4th and 7th Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr. Mahathir Mohamad,in 2016. [1]
He contested the Tasek Gelugor parliamentary seat in the 14th Malaysian general election but lost with the narrowest of margins overall,at just 81 votes. [1] Shortly thereafter,he was appointed as a Senator in the upper house of the Parliament of Malaysia [6] and sworn in as a deputy minister by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on 17 July 2018. [1] [7] On 18 November 2018,Chief Justice of Malaysia Richard Malanjum ordered the petition filed by Marzuki challenging the results of the election to go to trial. [8] The petition was struck out by the Election Court on 15 February 2019. [9]

Tan Sri Dato' Haji Mahiaddin bin Md. Yasin,commonly known as Muhyiddin bin Mohd. Yassin,is a Malaysian politician who served as the eighth Prime Minister of Malaysia from 2020 to 2021. Appointed as prime minister amid a political crisis,Muhyiddin served for 17 months and resigned after losing parliamentary support.
Dato' Seri Utama Mukhriz bin Tun Dr. Mahathir is a Malaysian politician and businessman served as the 11th and 13th Menteri Besar of Kedah from May 2013 to February 2016 and again from May 2018 to May 2020,Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Ministers Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Razak as well as former Minister Mustapa Mohamed from March 2008 to May 2013,Member of Parliament (MP) for Jerlun from March 2008 to May 2013 and again from May 2018 to November 2022 as well as Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Jitra from May 2018 to August 2023 and for Ayer Hitam from May 2013 to May 2018. He was the 1st and founding Deputy President and State Chairman of Kedah of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) from party foundation in September 2016 to his membership termination in May 2020 and was also the State Chairman of Kedah of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. He was also a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a component party of the BN coalition. He left UMNO with Mahathir and they founded BERSATU in 2016. Mahathir and his BERSATU memberships were terminated and they founded PEJUANG in 2020. He is one of the two Menteris Besar of Malaysia who represented two different political parties and coalitions.
Mohamed Azmin bin Ali is a Malaysian politician who is the current Leader of the Opposition of Selangor and member of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly for Hulu Kelang since August 2023. Formerly a member of the Malaysian Parliament for Gombak from 2008 to 2022,Azmin served in the cabinets of Muhyiddin Yassin and Ismail Sabri Yaakob as Senior Minister of the Economic Cluster and Minister of International Trade and Industry from 2020 to 2022. A member of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (BERSATU),which is a component party of Perikatan Nasional coalition,Azmin also served as a member of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly for Bukit Antarabangsa from 2008 to 2023.
Dato' Sri Mohd Johari bin Baharum is a Malaysian politician and was a three-term Member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the Kubang Pasu constituency in Kedah,Malaysia from 2004 to 2018. He was elected to Parliament at the 2004 election,replacing former fourth Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad,who was retiring then. Mohd Johari is a member of United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) party,a component party of the previous governing Barisan Nasional coalition.
Mujahid bin Yusof Rawa,is a Malaysian politician who has served as Senator since May 2023. He served as the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Religious Affairs in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020 as well as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Parit Buntar from March 2008 to November 2022. Dato' Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi is a Malaysian politician who has served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development since December 2022. A member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),he has served as its leader and the chairman of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition since May 2018. Zahid has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bagan Datuk since April 1995.
General elections were held in Malaysia on Wednesday,9 May 2018. At stake were all 222 seats in the Dewan Rakyat,the lower house of parliament. The 13th Parliament was dissolved by Prime Minister Najib Razak on 7 April 2018. It would have been automatically dissolved on 24 June 2018,five years after the first meeting of the first session of the 13th Parliament of Malaysia on 24 June 2013.
The Malaysian United Indigenous Party,abbreviated BERSATU or PPBM,is a nationalist political party in Malaysia. The party was preceded by the United Indigenous Association of Malaysia. It is a major component party within the Perikatan Nasional coalition. BERSATU was approved and registered on 14 January 2017 by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) and the use of the BERSATU logo was authorized by the Malaysian Election Commission (SPR). The party held the Prime Ministerial position as well as the majority of positions in the cabinet from May 2020 to August 2021. The party's founding members came from the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) and Barisan Nasional rebel group Gabungan Ketua Cawangan Malaysia in 2016.

Datuk Wira Mohd Anuar bin Mohd Tahir is a Malaysian politician who served as Deputy Minister of Works in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and former Minister Baru Bian from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Temerloh from May 2018 to November 2022. The 2020–2022 Malaysian political crisis was triggered after several Members of Parliament (MPs) of the 14th Malaysian Parliament changed party support,leading to the loss of a parliamentary majority,the collapse of two successive coalition governments,and the resignation of two Prime Ministers. The political crisis culminated in a 2022 snap general election and eventual formation of a coalition government.
The National Concord was a Malaysian political coalition that was formed between the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) and United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) against the then-ruling Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition which had come into power after the 2018 Malaysian general election (GE14). The political cooperation between the two largest Malay/Muslim-based parties was officialised with the signing of the Piagam Muafakat Nasional. The five-point charter was signed by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in the Himpunan Penyatuan Ummah held at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC),Kuala Lumpur on 14 September 2019.
