The mayor of Tianjin, officially the Mayor of the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, is the head of the Tianjin Municipal People's Government. The mayor generally serves as the deputy secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, and is the second-highest ranking official in the city after the secretary of the CCP Tianjin Committee.

The politics of Shanghai is structured in a dual party-government system like all other governing institutions in the mainland of the People's Republic of China (PRC). In the last few decades the city has produced many of the country's eventual senior leaders, including Jiang Zemin, Zhu Rongji, Wu Bangguo, Huang Ju, Xi Jinping, Yu Zhengsheng, Han Zheng, and Li Qiang.
Huang Xingguo was the Mayor of Tianjin, and, between 2015 and 2016, the acting Communist Party Secretary of Tianjin. Huang is originally from Zhejiang province, and previously served as party chief of Ningbo, and the party chief of Taizhou. In 2016, he was investigated by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and subsequently expelled from the Chinese Communist Party for breaking party regulations. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison upon being convicted on charges of bribery.
Gong Zheng is a Chinese politician who is the current deputy secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Shanghai Committee and mayor of Shanghai.
Zhang Guoqing is a Chinese politician and former corporate executive who has served as vice premier of China since March 2023 and a member of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party since October 2022. Previously, he served as the mayor of Tianjin, one of the four direct-controlled municipalities of China. An economics doctorate from Tsinghua University, Zhang had previously served as the Communist Party secretary of Liaoning, mayor of Chongqing, the chief executive of North Industries, a military contractor.
Wang Dongfeng is a Chinese politician who is the current secretary-general of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He was formerly the Communist Party secretary of Hebei province and mayor of Tianjin, one of the four direct-controlled municipalities of China. Born in Xi'an, Wang spent his early career in his home province of Shaanxi. He then served in the State Administration for Industry and Commerce before being transferred to Tianjin.
Tang Liangzhi is a Chinese politician who is the current party branch secretary of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He was previously mayor of Chongqing from January 2018 to December 2021, party secretary of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, and mayor of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei.
