The second Miss Chinese International Pageant, Miss Chinese International Pageant 1989 was held on December 17, 1989 in Hong Kong. Miss Chinese International 1988 Michelle Monique Reis of Hong Kong crowned Kit Wong of Sydney, Australia as the new winner. Sydney would not go on to win the crown, until 2007, when Sarah Song captured the title.
The theme to this year's pageant is "The Traditions of the Dragon, The Embodiment of Beauty" 「龍的傳統 俏的化身」. The Masters of Ceremonies were Carina Lau, Philip Chan, and Miss Hong Kong 1987 first runner-up Elizabeth Lee.

The Miss Hong Kong Pageant, or Miss HK (港姐) for short, is an annual beauty pageant organised by local Hong Kong television station, TVB. The pageant was established in 1946, and acquired by TVB in 1973.
Aimee Chan or Chan Yan-mei is a Canadian born actress based in Hong Kong. She was the winner of Miss Hong Kong 2006 and was offered a TVB contract shortly after.
Monica Chan Fat-yung is a Hong Kong actress and model. She won the Miss Hong Kong 1989 pageant.
Miss Hong Kong 2007 pageant, the 35th Miss Hong Kong pageant was held in the Hong Kong Coliseum on 21 July 2007. Sixteen delegates competed for the title. Contestant #3: Kayi Cheung was crowned the winner by outgoing titleholder, Aimee Chan.

The 17th Miss Chinese International Pageant, Miss Chinese International Pageant 2005 was held on January 29, 2005 in Hong Kong. The pageant was organized and broadcast by TVB in Hong Kong. Miss Chinese International 2004 Linda Chung of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada crowned Leanne Li as the new winner. Li was the fourth winner from Vancouver to win the crown and the second time a consecutive win occurred.
The 12th Miss Chinese International Pageant, Miss Chinese International Pageant 2000 was held on February 6, 2000 in Las Vegas. For the first time ever, the pageant moved out of Hong Kong, and was held at Caesars Palace. Miss Chinese International 1999 Michelle Ye of New York, USA crowned Sonija Kwok of Hong Kong as the new winner. The next time Hong Kong wins the pageant would be Grace Chan in 2014.

Miss Chinese International 1998 Louisa Luk of San Francisco, USA crowned her Michelle Ye of New York City, USA as the 11th Miss Chinese International. The victory marked the first back to back winners for the United States.

Miss Chinese International 1997 Monica Lo of Toronto, Ontario, Canada crowned Louisa Luk of San Francisco, USA as the new winner. Luk is the first winner from the United States and San Francisco's only winner, as of 2010.
The 3rd Miss Chinese International Pageant, Miss Chinese International Pageant 1991 was held on February 10, 1991 in Hong Kong. The pageant was supposed to be held in the fall/winter of 1990, but delayed until February 1991 to coincide with Chinese New Year. Since then, the pageant has been held near Chinese New Year up till 2010, when the pageant reverted to being held in the autumn. The pageant was organized and broadcast by TVB in Hong Kong. Miss Chinese International 1989 Kit Wong of Sydney, Australia crowned Singapore's Yen-Thean Leng as the new winner. Five years later, Singapore would win the pageant again.

Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2017 was held in TVB City on 3 September 2017. 12 delegates competed for this title.
The 30th Miss Chinese International Pageant, Miss Chinese International Pageant 2019 was held on March 2, 2019. Miss Chinese International 2018 Rose Li of New York City, USA crowned her successor Hera Chan of Hong Kong at the end of the pageant.
