The 12th Miss Chinese International Pageant, Miss Chinese International Pageant 2000 was held on February 6, 2000 in Las Vegas. For the first time ever, the pageant moved out of Hong Kong, and was held at Caesars Palace. Miss Chinese International 1999 Michelle Ye of New York, USA crowned Sonija Kwok of Hong Kong as the new winner. The next time Hong Kong wins the pageant would be Grace Chan in 2014.

Pageant information

The theme to this year's pageant is "The Arrival of the Dragon, The Beauty Pageant of the Millennium" 「龍騰盛世 千禧競艶」. The Masters of Ceremonies were Eric Tsang, Jerry Lamb, as well as Miss Chinese International 1999 Michelle Ye and second runner-up Anne Heung. Special performing guest was cantopop singer Aaron Kwok.

-Sonija Kwok went on to Cyprus to compete in the Miss Universe 2000 pageant. She was unplaced, but placed in the top 10 Miss Photogenic online polls. As of 2010, Kwok is also the last representative of Hong Kong to compete in Miss Universe.

-Alina Zhang later became Miss Universe China 2004 and went on to Ecuador to compete in the Miss Universe 2004 pageant. However, she was unplaced. Zhang is the third representative of the mainland China to compete in Miss Universe.

The Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant (多倫多華裔小姐競選), also known as MCTP, and formerly known as the Greater Toronto Chinese Pageant prior to 1999, is an annual beauty pageant organized by Fairchild TV that selects Toronto's representative for the annual Miss Chinese International Pageant, held in Hong Kong, organized by TVB. It is unrelated to the now-discontinued Miss Chinese Scarborough Pageant which was also hosted in the same region. The current Miss Chinese Toronto is Arya Zhang (張詩曼), winner of the 2023 pageant.

Miss Universe 1992 was the 41st Miss Universe pageant, held on 9 May 1992 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand. Seventy-eight contestants competed in this year. Michelle McLean of Namibia was crowned by Lupita Jones of Mexico at the event's conclusion. This is the first and so far only time that Namibia won the pageant.

Miss Chinese International Pageant 1988, the 1st Miss Chinese International Pageant was held on October 2, 1988 in Hong Kong. The pageant was organized and broadcast by TVB in Hong Kong. At the end of the pageant, Run Run Shaw crowned Michelle Reis of Hong Kong as the first Miss Chinese International. Hong Kong would not win the pageant, until 12 years later when Sonija Kwok won the crown in 2000.

The 15th anniversary of the pageant, Miss Chinese International Pageant 2003 was held on January 25, 2003 in Hong Kong. TVB of Hong Kong broadcast and distributed the pageant worldwide. In the end, Miss Chinese International 2002 Shirley Zhou of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada crowned Rachel Tan of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as the new winner.

The 14th Miss Chinese International Pageant, Miss Chinese International 2002 was held in Guangzhou, China. This marked the second time the pageant was held outside Hong Kong. China would not host the pageant again, until 2007. For the first time in history, Vancouver won the title again, for the second consecutive year.

Miss Chinese International Pageant 2001 was held on January 20, 2001 in Hong Kong. At the end of the pageant, Bernice Liu of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada was crowned the 13th Miss Chinese International. This was the first victory for the Canadian city. Prior to this, Vancouver has never placed higher than 2nd runner up.

Miss Chinese International Pageant 1999 was held on February 14, 1999 in Hong Kong. The pageant was organized and broadcast by TVB in Hong Kong. Miss Chinese International 1998 Louisa Luk of San Francisco, USA crowned her Michelle Ye of New York City, USA as the 11th Miss Chinese International. The victory marked the first back to back winners for the United States.

The 4th Miss Chinese International Pageant, Miss Chinese International Pageant 1992 was held on January 26, 1992 in Hong Kong. The pageant was organized and broadcast by TVB in Hong Kong. Miss Chinese International 1991 Yen-Thean Leng crowned Rosemary Chan of Toronto, Ontario, Canada as the winner. It was also the first victory for Canada and North America. As of 2010, Toronto would win the crown for two more times.

The 22nd Miss Chinese International Pageant, Miss Chinese International Pageant 2010 was held on November 5, 2010. Tianjin, China would host the pageant for the first time. TVB would broadcast the pageant one day later, delayed, for the first time ever. Miss Chinese International 2009 Christine Kuo of Toronto, Ontario, Canada crowned her successor, Eliza Sam of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada at the end of the three-hour pageant, marking Vancouver's fifth win.

Miss Chinese International Pageant 1994 was held on January 23, 1994, in Hong Kong. The pageant was organized and broadcast by TVB in Hong Kong. Miss Chinese International 1993 Christy Chung crowned Saesim Pornapa Sui of Bangkok, Thailand as the winner.

Miss Chinese International Pageant 1995 was held on January 22, 1995 in Hong Kong. The pageant was organized and broadcast by TVB in Hong Kong. Miss Chinese International 1994 Saesim Pornapa Sui crowned Hsiang-Lin Ku of Taipei, Chinese Taipei as the winner.

Miss World 2013, the 63rd edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 28 September 2013 at Bali International Convention Center, South Kuta, Bali, Indonesia. It was the first time in Southeast Asia and it also was the first time in the pageant's history that the event was held in a Muslim majority country. Contestants from 127 countries and territories competed in this year's Miss World pageant, marking the biggest turnout for any beauty pageant globally as of 2024. Yu Wenxia of China crowned her successor Megan Young of the Philippines at the end of the event, marking the only time to date that the Philippines has won the Miss World title. This victory also made the Philippines the third country to win all of the Big Four international beauty pageants.
