Mississauga Hospital is a regional and teaching hospital in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It provides general medical services to residents of central and southern Mississauga as well as regional stroke, cardiac, and neurological care.
Founded in 1958 as South Peel Hospital, the hospital was renamed to Mississauga Hospital in 1980. After a 1997 government mandate to restructure, the hospital merged with the nearby Queensway General Hospital in Toronto in April 1998 to form a new hospital corporation named Trillium Health Centre. [1] From 1998 to 2011 the hospital was known as Trillium Health Centre Mississauga. [2] The name was reverted to Mississauga Hospital following Trillium Health Centre's merger with Credit Valley Hospital on December 1, 2011, to form Trillium Health Partners. [3]
In 2022, Trillium received a $105 million donation from the Peter Gilgan Foundation, for this hospital and Queensway Health Centre. After the rebuild of the hospital, it will be known as the Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital. [4]
The hospital's annual Diwali dinner has become known as one of Mississauga's premier social events. [9]

The Temerty Faculty of Medicine is the medical school of the University of Toronto. The Queensway is a major street in the municipalities of Toronto and Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It is a western continuation of Queen Street, after it crosses Roncesvalles Avenue and King Street in Toronto. The Queensway is a divided roadway from Roncevalles westerly until 600 metres of the South Kingsway with its centre median dedicated to streetcar service. St. Michael's Hospital is a teaching hospital and medical centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was established by the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1892 with the founding goal of taking care of the sick and the poor of Toronto's inner city. The COVID-19 pandemic is an ongoing viral pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), a novel infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The pandemic has affected the Cities of Mississauga and Brampton, and the Town of Caledon, within the Regional Municipality of Peel. As part of the larger closure decisions in Ontario, a stay-at-home order shuttered all nonessential businesses, and caused event cancellations.
Camilla Care Community is a 236-resident long-term care home in Mississauga, Ontario, owned by Partners Community Health. It is located next to Trillium Health Partners' Mississauga Hospital. The facility was taken over, temporarily, by the Province of Ontario in May 2020, as a result of extensive deaths from COVID-19.
