New York's 50th State Assembly district is one of the 150 districts in the New York State Assembly. It has been represented by Emily Gallagher since 2021. She defeated then 48-year Assemblyman Joe Lentol in the 2020 Democratic primary. [1]
District 50 is in Brooklyn. It contains Greenpoint and parts of Williamsburg.
The district is entirely contained within New York's 7th congressional district, and overlaps the 18th and 59th districts of the New York State Senate, and the 33rd and 34th districts of the New York City Council.

New York's 12th congressional district is a congressional district for the United States House of Representatives located in New York City. As of 2023, it is represented by Democrat Jerry Nadler, redistricted incumbent of the former 10th congressional district who defeated incumbent Carolyn Maloney in the August 2022 Democratic primary. The redrawn District 12 includes the Upper West Side constituency represented by Nadler since the 1990s, the Upper East Side, and all of Midtown Manhattan. The district is the smallest congressional district by area in the U.S. The 12th district's per capita income, in excess of $75,000, is the highest among all congressional districts in the United States.

Steve Cohn is a lawyer and a Democratic District Leader in Brooklyn, New York. He is a Democratic Committeeman in Brooklyn's 50th Assembly District. Cohn said in 2010 that he would not seek reelection as Democratic District Leader, after 27 years in the position.

Phara Souffrant Forrest is an American politician, nurse, and tenant activist. A member of the Democratic Socialists of America, she is the assembly member for the 57th district of the New York State Assembly. After defeating incumbent Assembly Member Walter T. Mosley in the Democratic primary in June 2020, Forrest won the general election in November of that year. She defeated former District Manager of Community Board 2 Olanike Alabi in the primary to defend her seat in 2022. She was unopposed in the general election.
