Nogger is a brand of ice cream bar made by Langnese. It was first introduced in West Germany in 1964, making it one of the oldest ice cream brands of Unilever. [1] [2] [3]

Products

The original "Nogger" product is a vanilla and chocolate ice cream with a coating of cocoa glaze, hazelnuts and rusk pieces. [4] A Nogger weighs 69 grams and has an energy value of 870 kilojoules (210 kilocalories). It is made from fat icing, hazelnut and rusk pieces, skimmed milk, vegetable fat, low-fat cocoa, wheat flour, emulsifier, salt and flavorings. [4] Later Nogger products include:

Advertising

For years the ice cream was advertised in Germany with the slogan "Nogger dir einen!", which gained a certain level of notoriety. This slogan is no longer on the packaging today. [18] [19] [20]

It was first established in 1967 in New South Wales, as the general dairy brand of the Raymond Terrace Co-operative and its successor the Hunter Valley Co-operative Dairy Company. The origin of the Oak brand goes back to 1903. Oak flavoured milk was launched in Queensland, South Australia, and Victoria in 1998. It was discontinued in Victoria in 2006 but relaunched in 2010. Oak launched in Western Australia in October 2013.
