Nomathemba Emily Mokgethi is a South African politician who served as the Gauteng Health MEC from 2020 to 2022 and has been a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since 2018. She was the provincial MEC for Social Development between June and December 2020. Mokgethi is a member of the African National Congress.
Mokgethi was born in the Transvaal Province. [1] She holds a Master of Arts in Nursing Science and a doctorate in literature and philosophy from the University of South Africa. [2]
Mokgethi worked as an official at the Merafong City Local Municipality in Gauteng. [1] She was the acting municipal manager in the municipality before her appointment as the municipal manager at the Tlokwe Local Municipality in the North West in 2014. [3] After the 2016 local government elections,the JB Marks Local Municipality was formed by the merging of the Tlokwe and Ventersdorp local municipalities. Mokgethi was appointed the municipal manager of the newly established municipality. In February 2018,she resigned from the position as she was sworn in as a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature,representing the African National Congress. [1]
Also in 2018,she was appointed to the Presidential Review Committee to contribute to the 25 Years since Democracy report. [1]
In May 2019,Mokgethi was elected to a full term as a member of the provincial legislature. She was then made chairperson of the Co-operative Governance &Traditional Affairs,and Human Settlement committee. [4] She was also appointed to serve on the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) and the standing committee of chair of chairs. [4]
On 19 June 2020,Mokgethi was appointed as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) responsible for the provincial department of Social Development. [2] She took over from Panyaza Lesufi,who had acted in the position after the death of Thuliswa Nkabinde-Khawe in November 2019. [2] She served in this position until December,when she was appointed as MEC for Health. [5] Mokgethi was removed as an MEC during a cabinet reshuffle done by the newly elected premier of Gauteng on 7 October 2022. [6]
Mokgethi has also held senior leadership positions in the provincial structures of the ANC,the ANC Women's League and the tripartite alliance. [2]
Manemolla David Makhura is a South African politician. He served as the 6th Premier of Gauteng following his election in 2014 until his resignation in October 2022. He was also a member of the Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature during that time. Makhura is a member of the African National Congress (ANC). Makhura is also the trustee of the board of the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation.

Andrek Lesufi known professionally as Panyaza Lesufi,is a South African politician who is the 7th premier of Gauteng. He served as the Gauteng MEC for Education from May 2014 until October 2022,despite a brief interruption in May 2019. He was appointed the Gauteng MEC for Finance and e-Government in May 2019,but returned to the post of Education MEC a day later. Lesufi is also a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature for the African National Congress (ANC) and the Chairperson of the party in the province,as well as a member of the South African Communist Party.
Thuliswa Winlove Nkabinde-Khawe was a South African politician and a party member of the African National Congress (ANC). She was elected a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in May 2009 and was a long-serving member of the Social Development committee in the legislature,prior to her appointment as Gauteng MEC for Social Development in May 2019. She was an MEC until her death just over five months later.

She was elected to serve on the ANC's provincial executive committee (PEC) in December 2015 from the position of provincial African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) secretary. Manzini served as the MEC for the provincial Department of Public Works,Roads and Transport from August 2016 to July 2018. She has been a member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature since February 2016.
Tasneem Motara is a South African politician who has been the Gauteng MEC for Finance since 2022 and a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since 2019. She was the MEC for Infrastructure Development and Property Management between May 2019 and October 2022. From May 2014 to May 2019,she represented Gauteng in the National Council of Provinces. She served as the chief whip of the provincial delegation. Motara is a member of the African National Congress.
Lebogang Isaac Maile is a South African politician serving as the Gauteng MEC for Human Settlements and Infrastructure Development since October 2022. He has been a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since May 2009.
Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko is a South African politician and a member of the African National Congress. She has served as the Gauteng MEC for Health and Wellness since October 2022. She was the MEC for Finance and e-Government from May 2019 until October 2022. Nkomo-Ralehoko was elected to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in June 1999.

Petrus Simon Ngomane,known as Pat Ngomane,is a South African politician. A member of the African National Congress,he was elected to the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature in May 2014. He served as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Community Safety,Security and Liaison from August 2016 until May 2019,when he was appointed MEC for Finance,Economic Development and Tourism. Ngomane served in the position until an executive council reshuffle in February 2021.

She was the MEC for Economic Development,Agriculture and Environment from October 2019 to December 2020 as well as well as the Gauteng MEC for Social Development from December 2020 until October 2022. Prior to her election to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in 2019,she served as a Tshwane city councillor. Mosupyoe is a member of the African National Congress.
Matome Kopano Chiloane is a South African politician who has been the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Education in Gauteng since October 2022. He has been a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since March 2018,representing the African National Congress. He formerly served as the chairperson of the education committee in the legislature. Chiloane is also the provincial chairperson of the African National Congress Youth League.

Phalama Jacob Mamabolo is a South African politician of the African National Congress. He was elected to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in the 2014 election,and was appointed Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Human Settlement and COGTA. He served in this position until his appointment as the MEC for Infrastructure Development in February 2016. Mamabolo became the MEC for Roads and Transport in 2019. In October 2022,Mamabolo was promoted to MEC for Finance.

Mzikayifane Elias Khumalo is a South African African National Congress politician who has been the Gauteng MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs,eGovernment and Research and Development since 2022 and a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since 2019. He served as the chief whip of majority party in the provincial legislature from May 2019 until October 2022. Previously,he served as the Executive Mayor of the Randfontein Local Municipality from 2015 to 2016 and as the Executive Mayor of the Rand West City Local Municipality from 2016 to 2019.
Xolile Edmund Nqatha is a South African politician who has been the Eastern Cape MEC for Transport and Community Safety since 2022. A member of the African National Congress,he has been a member of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature since 2009. Nqatha served as the MEC for Rural Development and Agrarian Reform from 2018 to 2019 and as the MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs from 2019 to 2022. He is also the provincial secretary of the South African Communist Party.
Motlalepula Ziphora Rosho is a South African politician. A member of the African National Congress,she was elected deputy speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature in 2010. In 2012 she was appointed as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Economic Development,Environment,Conservation and Tourism in the North West Provincial Government. Rosho was discharged from the executive council in 2014 and then served in the provincial legislature as a committee chairperson until December 2018,when she returned to the executive as MEC for Local Government and Human Settlement. Rosho was appointed as MEC for Finance after the 2019 elections.
