Mervyn Hyman Cirota (born 24 March 1953) is a South African politician who serves as a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature for the Democratic Alliance. He is an attorney by profession.
Cirota matriculated in 1970. He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce qualification in 1976 and achieved a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree in 1979. He started practicing as an attorney in the 1980s. In 2007, he achieved a diploma in governance from the University of Johannesburg before he achieved a Certificate in Property Development and Management at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2014.
Cirota became politically involved in the 1970s. He was elected as the ward councillor for Houghton Estate in 2000 as a member of the Democratic Alliance. In 2005, he resigned from the DA and joined the Independent Democrats. [1] The following year, he was appointed as the party's Gauteng Regional Director, a position he held until after the 2006 elections. He also represented the ID in the city's Safety and Finance Committees. [2] He was chairperson of the Bramley Community Police Forum from 1997 to 2008. [3]
In July 2007, he was elected as the national chairperson of the ID. [2] The ID and DA announced their merger in 2010 and Cirota became a member of the DA again. In 2011 he was re-elected to the Johannesburg city council as a DA councillor and he was appointed as the DA's Gauteng Provincial Disciplinary Chair. Cirota became the DA Gauteng South Fundraising Chairperson in 2012. [3] In 2014 he was elected as a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature. [4] Cirota was appointed to the role of Shadow MEC for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs by DA Caucus Leader John Moodey in December 2016. [5]
After his re-election in 2019, the newly elected DA Caucus Leader, Solly Msimanga, appointed him as head of the team that deals with legislation. [6] He is also a special delegate to the National Council of Provinces. [7]
Anchen Margaretha Dreyer is a South African politician, a Member of Parliament for the opposition Democratic Alliance, and former Chairperson of the Democratic Alliance Caucus in the National Assembly. Before being elected unopposed to this position on 26 May 2014, she was first the Shadow Minister of Public Enterprises and thereafter the Shadow Minister of Public Works.

Mpho Franklyn Parks Tau is a South African politician who has been a Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs since March 2023 and a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since February 2023, representing the African National Congress. Before becoming a member of Parliament, Tau had been a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature where he served in the Gauteng Executive Council as MEC for Economic Development from December 2020 to October 2022. Prior to that, he was Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs between May 2019 and December 2020.
John Clifford Moodey is a South African politician who served as the Provincial Leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng from 2007 to 2010 and from 2012 to 2020. Moodey was a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature from 2004 to 2020 and served as Leader of the Opposition from 2014 to 2019. He was the party's Shadow MEC for Community Safety.
Refiloe Nt'sekhe is a South African politician who has been a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since 2014. A member of the Democratic Alliance, she served as one of the party's deputy federal chairpersons between 2015 and 2023 and as one of the party's national spokespeople between 2015 and 2020.

After serving one term in the provincial legislature, Clarke was elected to the National Assembly of South Africa in 2019. She currently serves as Shadow Minister of Health after previously serving as Shadow Deputy Minister of Public Service and Administration and as Shadow Deputy Minister of Public Enterprises.
Annerie Maria Magdalena Weber is a South African politician who serves as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa. A member of the Democratic Alliance, she was elected to Parliament in May 2019. As of April 2023, she is the Shadow Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment. Weber served as the chairperson of the DA's caucus in the Nkangala District Municipality between 2015 and 2019.

Jack Bloom is a South African politician who has been a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since 1994, representing the Democratic Party from 1994 until 2003 and the Democratic Alliance from 2003 onwards. Bloom is the DA's shadow MEC for health. Bloom was the DA caucus leader and the Leader of the Opposition in the provincial legislature from December 2007 to April 2009 and again from March 2011 until May 2014.

As a member of the Democratic Alliance, he served as a councillor in the City of Johannesburg until the 2014 national election, when he was elected to the National Assembly of South Africa. After that, he was appointed Shadow Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform. Mhlongo became the Shadow Minister of Sport and Recreation in January 2017 before he was selected to be Shadow Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture in June 2019. On 1 December 2023, Mhlongo was expelled from the DA and lost his parliamentary membership. He has since joined ActionSA.
