The Northern Regional Minister is the Ghana government official who is responsible for overseeing the administration of the Northern Region of Ghana. The boundaries of the Northern Region have changed at various times in Ghana's history. Following the December 2018 referendums, the North East Region has been carved out of it. There are currently sixteen administrative regions in Ghana.

The regions of Ghana are the first level of subnational government administration within the Republic of Ghana. As of 2020, there are 16 regions, which are further divided for administrative purposes into 260 local metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies.
John Dramani Mahama is a Ghanaian politician who has been the 14th president of Ghana since 7 January 2025. He previously served as the 12th president from 2012 to 2017 and as the fifth vice president from 2009 to 2012. Mahama took office as president for the first time on 24 July 2012, following the death of his predecessor, John Atta Mills.
The Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) was the name of the Ghanaian government after the People's National Party's elected government was overthrown by Jerry Rawlings, the former head of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council, in a coup d'état on 31 December 1981. He remained in power until 7 January 1993. In a statement, Rawlings said that a "holy war" was necessary due to the PNP's failure to provide effective leadership and the collapse of the national economy and state services.
William Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is a Ghanaian politician who served as the 13th president of Ghana from 2017 to 2025. He previously served as Attorney General from 2001 to 2003 and as Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2007 under the administration of then-president John Kufuor.
Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was the first Prime Minister and first President of Ghana. Nkrumah had run governments under the supervision of the British government through Charles Arden-Clarke, the Governor-General. His first government under colonial rule started from 21 March 1952 until independence. His first independent government took office on 6 March 1957. From 1 July 1960, Ghana became a republic and Nkrumah became the first president of Ghana.

The region was carved out of the Volta Region and will be in fulfillment of a campaign promise made by New Patriotic Party. Prior to the 2016 Ghanaian general election, the then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo declared that when elected, he would explore the possibility of creating new regions out of some of the existing regions in Ghana in order to bring government closer to citizens. The Region was inaugurated on May 14, 2019. It has Dambai as its Regional Capital. The people of Oti region have for more than 60 years always wanted to have a region of their own before its creation in 2018 by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led government in December 2018.
The Ahafo Region is a newly created region in Ghana with Goaso as its capital. The region has administrative and governmental legislature like all the ten already existing regions in Ghana. The region was carved out of the south-eastern part of the Brong Ahafo Region and was in fulfillment of a campaign promise made by New Patriotic Party. Prior to the 2016 Ghanaian general election, the then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo declared that when elected, he would explore the possibility of creating new regions out of some of the existing regions in Ghana in order to bring government closer to citizens.

The Greater Accra Regional Minister is the Ghana government official who is responsible for overseeing the administration of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. The region was initially an administrative district within the Eastern Region of Ghana. The region was formally created by law in July 1982 by Provisional National Defence Council government through the Greater Accra Region Law as a legally separate region. Currently, the southern boundary of the Greater Accra Region is the Atlantic Ocean. To the east is the Volta Region, Central Region to the west and the Eastern Region to the north. There are currently sixteen administrative regions in Ghana.
The Ashanti Regional Minister is the Ghana government official who is responsible for overseeing the administration of the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The region is home to the Ashanti people who are ruled by the Asantehene. It has always been a politically important region due to this. Since the December 2019 referendum, there are currently sixteen administrative regions in Ghana. The capital has always been at Kumasi.

The Central Regional Minister is the Ghana government official who is responsible for overseeing the administration of the Central Region of Ghana. The area currently covered by the Central Region used to be part of the Western Province in the Gold Coast under British colonial rule. The Western Province which had become the Western Region after Ghana became an independent country was split into the Western and Central Regions. The seat of the regional administration is located in Cape Coast, the capital.
The Eastern Regional Minister is the Ghana government official is responsible for overseeing the administration of the country's Eastern Region, one of sixteen administrative regions in Ghana since a referendum in 2019. The region is home to a large part of the Akan ethnic group and its capital is Koforidua.

Colonel George Minyila was a Ghanaian military officer, diplomat and politician who served in various capacities in the National Redemption Council and Supreme Military Council (Ghana) governments as well as the military during his lifetime. He is best remembered for his reforms in the Eastern Region of Ghana, where he was assigned under the policy of former Head of State Ignatius Kutu Acheampong to deploy Ministers to regions they did not hail from.
