Buranjis are a class of historical chronicles and manuscripts associated with the Ahom kingdom. There were written initially in the Ahom Language and later in the Assamese language as well. The Buranjis are an example of historical literature which is rare in India—they bear resemblance to Southeast Asian traditions of historical literature instead. The Buranjis are generally found in manuscript form, a number of these manuscripts have been compiled and published especially in the Assamese language.
Nagaon is a city and a municipal board in Nagaon district in the Indian state of Assam. It is situated 122.6 kilometres (76 mi) east of Guwahati.

Gauhati University also known as GU, is a collegiate public state university located in Guwahati, Assam, India. It was established on 26 January 1948 under the provisions of an Act enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly and is the oldest university in Northeast India.

Puranigudam is in the Nagaon district of Assam, India. There are several villages in Puranigudam. The main commercial center of Puranigudam, also known as Keyan Patti is located closest to Garamur. Rupahihat are to the north, Barhampur and Nagaon in the west, Chalchali in the south and Rongagorah and Samaguri in the east. The river Kolong flowes through the upper half of the area and National Highway 37 runs parallel to the river. The area is almost in the middle of the Nagaon district and situated in higher elevation than the district headquarters.

North East India is an under-represented region in many ways. The troubled political climate, the beautiful landscape and the confluence of various ethnic groups perhaps have given rise to a body of writing that is completely different from Indian English literature. North-East India was a colonial construct and continues to be one by virtue of having a historically difficult relationship with the Indian nation state.

It was accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), India in 2003.The college is promoted to the status of a university by Government of Assam by the Jagannath Barooah University Act 2023.

Bhattadeva (1558–1638), is acknowledged as the father of Assamese prose. Though Bhaktiratnakar-katha, the Assamese translation of Sankardev's Sanskrit composition Bhaktiratnakar by Gopala Charana Dwija preceded the works of Bhattadeva, Bhattadeva's prose had an influence in the development of a high and dignified style. Bhattadeva's and Gopala Charana Dvija's 16th century works are considered to be the earliest examples of prose in Indian languages. Bhattadeva's erudition in Sanskrit grammar and literature, and his command over the Bhagavata earned him the title of Bhagavata Bhattacharya.
Cotton University is a public state university located in Guwahati, Assam, India. It was established in 2017 by the provisions of an Act from the Assam Legislative Assembly which merged Cotton College State University and Cotton College. The University has progressed to become one of the top 200 institutions of the country.

Sarvagunakar Srimanta Sankardeva is an Indian Assamese language 2D Computer animation biographical film directed by Manju Borah, Director of Animation and all animation work was single-handedly done by Dr. Gautam k. Das at "24 illusion factory", animation studio, Guwahati, and produced by Sanjive Narain under the banner of AM Television. This is a story about the life of Assam's Great saint Srimanta Sankardeva. This is the first Assamese-language animated film.
North Gauhati College,( উত্তৰ গুৱাহাটী মহাবিদ্যালয়) established in year 1962, is one of the oldest general degree colleges situated in Guwahati, Assam. This college is affiliated with the Gauhati University. The College was then one and only higher educational institute of entire Northern part of the Kamrup rural district. It offers courses like Higher Secondary (12th) Arts and Science stream, Bachelor of Arts (B.A) (major/minor), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) (major/minor), B.Voc, and some certificate courses. In the academic year 2012-2013, the College had completed 50 years of its glorious existence and celebrated as Golden jubilee year.
