The wayside provides a sheltered platform from which to view the ocean. First established as a wayside parking area on the Oregon Coast Highway in 1930, the wayside building was built in 1956 as a restroom facility for the popular spot. It is located just to the north of the Depoe Bay Bridge, also on the National Register.

Devils Punch Bowl State Natural Area

Devils Punch Bowl State Natural Area is a state day use park on the central Oregon Coast in the United States. It is centered on a large bowl naturally carved in a rock headland which is partially open to the Pacific Ocean. Waves enter the bowl and often violently churn, swirl, and foam. Outside the bowl, ocean conditions are attractive to surfers near a large offshore rock pinnacle named Gull Rock, located about 12 mile (800 m) west-northwest of Devils Punch Bowl, which funnels and concentrates waves easily seen from the park. There are at least seventeen large rocks, part of Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge, which provide interesting wave viewing, and attract and provide a home for wildlife.

Frankport, also called Frankfort, is a ghost town in Curry County, Oregon. The town was centered on Frankport Beach, located in what is now Sisters Rocks State Park. Also part of Frankport was an island off the coast that was home to a shipping dock. The island, one of the three Sisters Rocks, was connected to the mainland by a bridge with a wooden railway.

2020 Oregon Secretary of State election

The 2020 Oregon Secretary of State election will be held on November 3, 2020, to elect the Oregon Secretary of State, the highest office in the state after the Governor. Incumbent Republican Bev Clarno has agreed not to run for reelection. Clarno was appointed by Governor Kate Brown to replace Dennis Richardson, who died of cancer during his term. Richardson's election was considered a surprise as a Republican had not been elected to statewide office since 2002, and Oregon had not had a Republican Secretary of State since 1985.
