One Night in Japan is an unofficial live album by American recording artist Michael Jackson. It was released on April 10, 2009. [1] The album was recorded on September 26, 1987 at the Yokohama Stadium during Jackson's world tour known as Bad. [2] It was the last album of Jackson's material to be released during his lifetime.
Michael Joseph Jackson was an American singer, songwriter, and dancer. Dubbed the "King of Pop", he is widely regarded as one of the most significant cultural figures of the 20th century and one of the greatest entertainers of all time. He was also known for his unorthodox lifestyle, residing in a private amusement park he called Neverland Ranch, and often becoming the focus of tabloid scrutiny. Jackson's contributions to music, dance, and fashion, along with his publicized personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture for over four decades.
Yokohama Stadium is a stadium in Naka Ward, Yokohama, Japan. It opened in 1978 and has a capacity of 30,000 people.
Bad was the first solo concert tour by American recording artist Michael Jackson, launched in support of his seventh studio album Bad (1987). Sponsored by Pepsi and spanning 16 months, the tour included 123 concerts to 4.4 million fans across 15 countries. It grossed a total of $125 million, making it the second highest-grossing tour of the 80s after Pink Floyd's Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour, and earning two new entries in the Guinness World Records for the largest grossing tour in history and the tour with the largest attended audience. It was nominated for "Tour of the Year 1988" at the inaugural International Rock Awards.
