Wan Azizah binti Wan Ismail is a Malaysian politician who is the spouse of Anwar Ibrahim, the current Prime Minister of Malaysia. She also served as the 12th Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Women, Family and Community Development in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from May 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration during a political crisis in February 2020. She was the first female Deputy Prime Minister, the first female Leader of the Opposition and the highest ever female political officeholder in the history of Malaysia.

After the 2018 general election, the ministry became a higher education division under the MOE. He has also served as Minister of Finance from March 1991 to September 1998 and again since December 2022 and 2nd Chairman of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition since May 2020, 2nd President of the People's Justice Party (PKR) since November 2018 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tambun since November 2022. He also served as Deputy Prime Minister and in many other Cabinet positions in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from 1982 until his removal in 1998.

Voting took place in all 222 parliamentary constituencies, each electing one MP to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. He served his first term in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Minister Hamzah Zainudin from March 2020 to August 2021 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Kuala Krau from March 2004 to November 2022. He served as the Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration from under former Prime Minister Najib Razak and former Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia from June 2013 to May 2018. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition which is aligned with the PN coalition. He is also former Chairman of the Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN).

A member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party, a component party of the ruling Perikatan Nasional (PN) and former component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalitions since March 2018 and its Strategy and Policy Bureau Deputy Chairman from March 2018 to August 2020 and its Information Chief since August 2020. He also served as Chairman of the Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) from June 2018 after the resignation of Shamsul Anuar Nasarah following collapse of the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration in May 2018 thanks to its defeat in the 2018 general election to June 2022. He also served as Special Advisor to the former Minister of Education which is Maszlee Malik from May to November 2018.
The Prime Minister's Department is a federal government ministry in Malaysia. Its objective is "determining the services of all divisions are implemented according to policy, legislation / regulations and current guidelines". It is headed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia followed by other Minister in the Prime Minister's Department. Buku Jingga, a Malay phrase literally translated as Orange Book, was a political manifesto of the Malaysian political coalition Pakatan Rakyat, which was made up of three major component parties: Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), People's Justice Party (PKR) and Democratic Action Party (DAP). Buku Jingga was agreed by the parties during the Second Pakatan Rakyat Convention in Penang on 19 December 2010. It acted as an alternative to Barisan Nasional's policies such as the Economic Transformation Programme, New Economic Model (NEM) and the Government Transformation Programme (GTP) Buku Jingga outlined a stand on various issues, including a 100-day reform plan. This included increases in teachers' incentives, abolishment of the highway toll system and the Internal Security Act (ISA), and the increase of royalties paid by the government to oil-producing states in Malaysia.

The "Kajang Move" was a political manoeuvre attempted in Malaysia in 2014. The manoeuvre sought to topple the 14th Menteri Besar of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, and install the national opposition leader Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim as his replacement. The move was initiated by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Strategy Director, then Vice President cum Secretary General, Rafizi Ramli. The attempt resulted in a nine-month political crisis within the state of Selangor and the Pakatan Rakyat coalition, that also involved the palace of Selangor. The crisis concluded with the appointment of PKR's Deputy President, Azmin Ali, as the 15th Menteri Besar of Selangor.

He is also the current Shah Alam Parti Keadilan Rakyat deputy chief and was former chief of Selangor Parti Keadilan Rakyat Youth wing. Najwan is one of the defence witness called by the Malaysian High Court in Anwar Ibrahim's second sodomy trial. He is also the designer of the flag Sang Saka Malaya that became controversial during the 55th anniversary of Malaysia's independence in 2012.
The Malaysian United Indigenous Party, abbreviated BERSATU or PPBM, is a nationalist political party in Malaysia. The party was preceded by the United Indigenous Association of Malaysia. It is a major component party within the Perikatan Nasional coalition and the Barisan Nasional coalition, after the collapse of the Pakatan-led government. BERSATU was approved and fully registered on 14 January 2017 by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) and the use of the BERSATU logo was authorized by the Malaysian Election Commission (SPR). The party held the Prime Ministerial position as well as the majority of positions in the cabinet from May 2020 to August 2021. The party's founding members came from the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) and Barisan Nasional rebel group Gabungan Ketua Cawangan Malaysia in 2016.
