History

Persikad 1999 is not the same club as Persikad Depok, but was officially founded on 27 April 2018. [1] It was intended as a phoenix club to replace Persikad Depok which had been defunct. The license to compete in official PSSI competitions was obtained after acquiring another club from West Java, namely Mars Gelatik from Purwakarta. The change of name and base was officially determined through the PSSI West Java Congress in February 2020 and is currently legally domiciled in Depok. [4]

Rivalries

This team has a history of rivalry with Persikabo Bogor since the early Persikad Depok era which was known as the Ciliwung derby. [5] Taken from the name of the river that flows through the base areas of the two teams. Currently the two initial teams mentioned have defunct, this derby is continued by two phoenix clubs Persikad 1999 and Persikabo 1973. [6] [7]

Supporters

Persikad 1999 has several supporter bases, the number of which can be said to be not too large when compared to neighboring clubs in the Greater Jakarta area. [8] [9] One of the famous supporter bases is Persikad Fans Curva Sud (PFCS), who in 2023 was involved in a feud with club management regarding management that was considered incompetent. [10]
