Pityrogramma calomelanos [2] [3] , commonly known as the silver fern [4] , is a rhizomatous geophyte or lithophyte native to Mexico and Tropical America [5] [6] [7] . It grows mainly in subtropical regions and has been introduced widely across Asia, Africa, and Pacific islands [8] .
