Pityrogramma calomelanos, [2] [3] commonly known as the silver fern, [4] is a rhizomatous geophyte or lithophyte native to Mexico and Tropical America. [5] [6] [7] It grows mainly in subtropical regions and has been introduced widely across Asia, Africa, and Pacific islands. [8]
