Purslow is a hamlet in south Shropshire, England. It is located on the B4368 between the towns of Clun and Craven Arms, on a minor crossroads.

In different jurisdictions and geographies, hamlets may be the size of a town, village or parish, be considered a smaller settlement or subdivision or satellite entity to a larger settlement. The word and concept of a hamlet have roots in the Anglo-Norman settlement of England, where the old French hamlet came to apply to small human settlements. In British geography, a hamlet is considered smaller than a village and distinctly without a church or other place of worship.

Clun is a small town in south Shropshire, England, and the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The 2011 census recorded 680 people living in the town. Research by the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England suggests that Clun is one of the most tranquil locations in England.
Purslow was a hundred and there is a pub at the crossroads called the "Hundred House". There is also a manor house which has existed in some form since the twelfth century. It is believed the name originally comes from the naming of 'Pusse's barrow'. A coat of arms exists for the Purslow family.
Sited at the crossroads is a war memorial to commemorate those fallen from the area, including an officer in the Gulf War (1991).

The war is also known under other names, such as the Persian Gulf War, First Gulf War, Gulf War I, Kuwait War, First Iraq War or Iraq War, before the term "Iraq War" became identified instead with the post-2003 Iraq War. The war has also earned the nickname Video Game War after the daily broadcast of images from cameras on board US bombers during Operation Desert Storm.
Although a tiny settlement, the annual summer Purslow Sports and Show attracts visitors (and relies on organisers) from all over the area. Highlights are a run up Clunbury Hill and the produce tent, where exhibitors compete for prizes in horticulture, cookery, and handicrafts. Held on August Bank Holiday Monday at Purslow Farm.

The River Clun is a river mostly in Shropshire, England which runs through the small town of Clun, as well as through or near a number of other villages situated along its valley. It discharges into the River Teme at Leintwardine, Herefordshire. The Clun Valley is very rural and is part of the Shropshire Hills AONB.

It is located about four to five miles west of Tiverton along the road to Witheridge. The parish covers about 5,765 acres (23.33 km2) of land, and comprises a number of scattered houses and farms, and three small hamlets, Pennymoor, Way Village and Nomansland. The church and the manor house are in the centre of the parish. The population at the time of the 2000 census was 461. The parish takes its name from the Cruwys family who have been Lords of the Manor here since the reign of King John (1199–1216).

Hydestile is a medium-sized hamlet between the villages of Busbridge and Hambledon, straddling their civil parish borders, centred 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south of Godalming in Waverley, south west Surrey. Hydestile in its west has West Surrey Golf Club and in the east has three sets of woods and a Leonard Cheshire home. The other main landmark is Hydon's Ball, a large woodland and promontory of the Greensand Ridge, about which a very old poem has been written; the site is free to visitors.

Hundreds in England had various judicial, fiscal and other local government functions, their importance gradually declining from the end of manorialism to the latter part of the 19th century.
Clunbury is a civil parish in Shropshire, England. It contains 63 listed buildings that are recorded in the National Heritage List for England. Of these, one is listed at Grade I, the highest of the three grades, two are at Grade II*, the middle grade, and the others are at Grade II, the lowest grade. The parish contains the villages of Clunbury and Clunton, and smaller settlements including Kempton, Little Brampton, and Purslow, and is otherwise rural. Most of the listed buildings are houses, farmhouses and farm buildings, many of which are timber framed, and some later encased or rebuilt in limestone. The other listed buildings are two churches, one dating from the 12th century, bridges, a stone signpost, three milestones, a former watermill, a former malthouse, and a former smithy.
