Ravi Prakash Singh is an Indian scientist. He's awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian honour.
He was born in Varanasi. He completed bachelor's and master's degrees in agriculture, in 1977 and 1979 respectively, from the Banaras Hindu University. In 1983, he completed a PhD from the University of Sydney. [1]
In 1983, he joined the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center. He retired in 2022. [1] [2]
In 2021, he was awarded the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman. [3] For his contributions to China's agricultural development, he was awarded the Friendship Award. [4]
In 2024, he was awarded the fourth highest civilian honor of India, the Padma Shri. [1]

Chandra Prakash Vohra is an Indian geologist, glaciologist and mountaineer who climbed Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, in 1965. He was one of the 9 summiters of the first successful Indian Everest Expeditions that climbed Mount Everest in May 1965 led by Captain M S Kohli. On 24 May 1965 Vohra and Ang Kami Sherpa together reached the top of Mount Everest. He was the first Indian civilian to scale the peak a feat he accomplished on 24 May 1965. A winner of the Arjuna Award (1965), and the National Mineral Award, Vohra was honoured by the Government of India in 1965, with the award of Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award. He is the 4th Indian man and 19th man in world that climbed Mount Everest.
Gurcharan Singh Kalkat was an Indian agricultural scientist and the founder chairman of the Punjab State Farmers Commission (PSFC), known for his contributions in bringing the green revolution to Punjab. He was also a recipient of Sawai Bhawani Singh Award for excellence in business and industry and Dagar Gharana Award of the Maharana of Mewar Foundation.
