History

The club was founded by young people. They first competed in the 1999 season for the Santiago North Zone.

In recent years, the club finished in the lower positions. In the 2014-15 season, the club won the first match of the first phase defeating União Picos 2-0 and started third, the second match had a goal draw with AJAC da Calheta. Later, Real Júnior suffered and their positions dropped to 10th at the fifth round and dropped to last place at the 9th round where they would finish. On March 15, the worst came as they lost to Scorpion Vermelho 5-1 and was the third worst match of the region. It was the last time the club did not relegate as the two tier system would be introduced to Santiago North for the 2015-16 season and the top tier became the Premier Division. The first match was a scoreless draw with Estrela dos Amadores of the same city. A two match losing streak was followed. At the 5th round, another scoreless draw was made with Benfica de Santa Cruz. Again it was another unsuccessful season and finished last place with 17 points and had 4 wins and 5 draws, the club scored 25 goals second fewest ahead of Desportivo de Assomada and conceded the most with 71 goals and was one of the first three clubs ever to be relegated into the regional Second Division for the 2016-17 season. Unlike GDR São Lourenço and Desportivo Assomada, the club withdrew due to financial and material reasons. [1] All of its matches were annulled and became bye weeks. Real Júnior will participate in the regional Second Division for the 2017-18 season, not long after, the club may have merged into Juventude de Tarrafal.
