Red Album is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Baroness.
Red Album is Baroness' only studio album to feature guitarist Brian Blickle, who replaced the band's original lead guitarist, Tim Loose. Hyperrealist Records released a one-off pressing of Red Album on dark red vinyl with etched borders, which was limited to 1000 copies. [2] [3] All subsequent pressings were handled by Relapse Records.
The song "O'Appalachia" was released in August 2007 on a limited edition split 7" with High on Fire and Coliseum. A music video for "Wanderlust" debuted on December 6, 2007 on Headbangers Ball . [4]

Red Album received positive reviews upon release. It was named the top album of 2007 by heavy metal magazine Revolver . [11] [12] In 2017, Rolling Stone ranked it 83rd on their list of 'The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time.' [13]

Neurosis is an American post-metal band from Oakland, California. It was formed in 1985 by guitarist Scott Kelly, bassist Dave Edwardson, and drummer Jason Roeder, initially as a crust punk band. Chad Salter joined as a second guitarist and appeared on the band's 1987 debut Pain of Mind and then Steve Von Till replaced him in 1989. The following year, the lineup further expanded to include a keyboardist and a visual artist. Beginning with their third album Souls at Zero (1992), Neurosis transformed their hardcore sound by incorporating diverse influences including doom metal and industrial music, becoming a major force in the emergence of the post-metal and sludge metal genres.
