Regina City Council is the governing body of Regina, the capital city of the central Canadian province of Saskatchewan. The council, which meets in Henry Baker Hall at Queen Elizabeth II Court, consists of the mayor, who is elected city-wide, and ten councillors representing ten wards throughout the city. The current council was elected to a four-year term on November 13, 2024. [2]

Municipal elections were held in Alberta, Canada on Monday, October 18, 2010. Since 1968, provincial legislation has required every municipality to hold triennial elections. Mayors (reeves), councillors (aldermen), and trustees were elected to office in 16 of the 17 cities, all 108 towns, all 95 villages, all 5 specialized municipalities, all 64 municipal districts, 3 of the 7 improvement districts, and the advisory councils of the 3 special areas. The City of Lloydminster is on the Saskatchewan schedule, and held elections on October 28, 2009 and October 24, 2012, while 4 improvement districts have no councils and are led solely by the Minister of Municipal Affairs. Since the 2007 municipal elections, the villages of Derwent, Kinuso, New Sarepta, and Thorhild were dissolved, the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass changed from town to specialized municipality status, and the Town of Lacombe became a city.

Gordon S. Wyant, KC is a Canadian lawyer and politician. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan with the Saskatchewan Party for the constituency of Saskatoon Northwest from 2010 to 2024. Wyant served in the cabinets of both Brad Wall and Scott Moe, including two stints as Attorney General. Prior to entering provincial politics, Wyant served on Saskatoon City Council from 2003 to 2010.

Paul Merriman is a Canadian politician. He is a former member of Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan (MLA), representing the electoral district of Saskatoon Silverspring-Sutherland from 2011 to 2024 as a member of the Saskatchewan Party. Merriman was a cabinet minister in the governments of both Brad Wall and Scott Moe.

Michael Fougere is an American-Canadian politician who served as mayor of Regina, Saskatchewan. He was elected mayor on October 24, 2012 with 42 percent of the vote among nine candidates, running on a platform that included housing, infrastructure, regional economic development and continuing the Regina Revitalization Initiative. Prior to being elected as mayor of Regina, Fougere served as a city councillor in Ward 4 which covered the majority of the city's south-eastern neighbourhoods, being re-elected five times. He was first elected to city council in 1997. At the time he was the co-founder of the Association of Concerned Taxpayers.

Eric Olauson is a Canadian politician. A member of the Saskatchewan Party, Olauson was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan in the 2016 provincial election for the district of Saskatoon University, and served one term before being defeated in the 2020 provincial election. Prior to his time in the Legislature, he was the Ward 8 councillor on Saskatoon City Council from 2012 to 2016.

Dana Skoropad is a Canadian politician who was elected to the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly in the 2020 general election. He represented Arm River as a member of the Saskatchewan Party for one term and did not stand for re-election. On May 31, 2022, Skoropad was appointed to cabinet as Minister of Environment. In August 2023, Skoropad announced that he would not be running in the next election, and he was shuffled out of cabinet on August 29.

Sandra Masters is a Canadian politician who was the 35th mayor of Regina, Saskatchewan, holding the role from 2020 to 2024. Masters was the first elected female mayor of either of Saskatchewan's major cities.
