Renee Pack (born 1961/1962) is an American politician serving as a member of the Indiana House of Representatives from the 92nd district. She assumed office on November 4,2020.
Pack was born in Nashville,Tennessee and graduated from Whites Creek High School. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master of Arts in educational leadership from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis. [1]
Pack served in the United States Army from 1986 to 1991. Since 2005,she has worked as a community liaison for the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township. She also worked as a behavioral specialist and drug and alcohol counselor. She was elected to the Indiana House of Representatives in November 2020. [2] She is the ranking member of the House Veterans Affairs and Public Safety Committee. [3]
Katie Beatrice Hall was an American educator in Gary,Indiana,and a politician who served as a U.S. Representative from Indiana from 1982 to 1985. When Hall was sworn into federal office on November 2,1982,she became the first black woman from Indiana elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. Hall represented Indiana's 1st Congressional District in the final months of the 97th Congress and an entire two-year term in the 98th Congress from 1983 to 1985. She is best known for sponsoring legislation and leading efforts on the floor of the U.S. House in 1983 to make Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday a national holiday after previous efforts had failed. H.R. 3706 to establish the third Monday in January as a federal holiday in King's honor was introduced in July 1983 and passed in the House on August 2,1983. President Ronald Reagan signed the bill into law on November 2,1983.
Jacqueline Renae Walorski was an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for Indiana's 2nd congressional district from 2013 until her death in 2022. She was a member of the Republican Party. Walorski served in the Indiana House of Representatives,representing Indiana's 21st district,from 2005 to 2010. In 2010,she won the Republican nomination for Indiana's 2nd congressional district,but narrowly lost the general election to Democratic incumbent Joe Donnelly. Walorski won the seat in 2012 after Donnelly vacated it to run for the U.S. Senate,and was reelected four times.
Renee Louise Ellmers is an American registered nurse and politician who was the U.S. representative for North Carolina's 2nd congressional district from 2011 to 2017. She is a member of the Republican Party. Ellmers defeated seven-term Democratic incumbent Bob Etheridge in 2010 by 1,489 votes,confirmed after a recount. In the 2016 Republican primary,Ellmers was defeated by fellow U.S. Representative George Holding.
