On April 20,2024,she was selected by her party in a caucus to serve the remainder of the term of Tom Henry,who died on March 28,2024. Tucker is the city’s first African-American Mayor,and the city’s second female mayor in its history. Tucker succeeded Acting Mayor Karl Bandemer.
