Janet Kainembabazi Museveni is a Ugandan politician who has been the First Lady of Uganda since 1986. She is married to Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, with whom she has four children. She has been Cabinet Minister of Education and Sports since 6 June 2016, although her own education record is questioned,she later graduated at Mukono university also known at UCU in Masters Art in organisational Leadership and Management on The 30th October 2015. She also served as the elected Member of Parliament representing Ruhaama County in Ntungamo District, between 2011 and 2016. She published her autobiography, My Life's Journey, in 2011.

John Byabagambi is a Ugandan engineer and politician. He was the Cabinet Minister for Karamoja Affairs, in the Cabinet of Uganda. He was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016, and was replaced by Mary Goretti Kitutu on 8 June 2021. He previously served as Minister of Works and Transport between March 2015 and June 2016, replacing Abraham Byandala who was appointed Minister Without Portfolio. He is also the elected Member of Parliament, representing Ibanda County South, Ibanda District. He was first elected to that position in 2001.

Hilary Obaloker Onek is a Ugandan engineer and politician. He is the current Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 27 May 2013. He replaced Tarsis Kabwegyere. Prior to that, Hilary Onek served as the Minister for Energy & Minerals, from 16 February 2009 until 27 May 2011. Before that, he served as Uganda's Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry & Fisheries from 2006 to 2009. He is also the elected Member of Parliament (MP) representing Lamwo County, Lamwo District. He was first elected to Parliament in 2001.

Mary Goretti Kitutu, also Mary Goretti Kitutu Kimono is a Ugandan academic, politician and environmentalist. She was appointed Minister for Karamoja Affairs on 8 June 2021, replacing John Byabagambi. She was the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, in the Ugandan Cabinet, from 14 December 2019 to 8 June 2021. Before that, from 10 June 2016, until 14 December 2019, she served as the State Minister for the Environment in the Cabinet of Uganda. Dr Mary Kitutu concurrently serves as the elected Manafwa District Women's Representative, in the 10th Parliament.

The position was established after the National Resistance Army was reconstituted as the Uganda People's Defence Forces, three years after the NRA's victory in the Ugandan Bush War in 1986. The current CDF is General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
