Howrah Railway Station is a railway station located in the city of Howrah, West Bengal, India. It is the oldest, largest and busiest railway complex in India as well as one of the busiest and largest train stations in the world. Howrah is one of six intercity train stations serving the Kolkata metropolitan area, the others being Sealdah, Dankuni, Santragachi, Shalimar and Kolkata railway station.

The 12393 / 12394 Sampoorna Kranti Express is an Indian Railways Superfast passenger train service, which runs between Rajendra Nagar, Patna and New Delhi. The service began running on 16 February 2002 and is one of the fastest train services in India, traversing the 1001-kilometre distance in under 12 hours, which puts it with likes of Patna Rajdhani Express, Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, Agartala Rajdhani Express, Howrah Rajdhani Express. It is faster than the Shramjeevi Superfast Express, Magadh Express and Vikramshila Express on the same route. This train is also known as "Aam Janta ki Rajdhani" as its fare is less than that of Rajdhani Express but matches it in speed and punctuality. It is quicker than few Premier Rajdhani Express Trains on Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction–New Delhi section.

The Howrah Rajdhani is the first Rajdhani Express of India and is one of the fastest train of Indian Railways. It is the fastest railway connection from New Delhi to Kolkata and vice versa. It is hauled by a Howrah based WAP 7 end to end.
Duronto Express is a category of long-distance fast trains run by the Indian Railways. Initially these trains did not have any passenger stops between the origin and the destination, but since January 2016 it is possible to book tickets from those technical stops. These trains were introduced in 2009 and were named 'Duronto', meaning 'speedster' in Bengali, as it was the fastest train of that time. Rewa – Anand Vihar Terminal SF Express is a daily Superfast Express train of the Indian Railways, running between Rewa, a city of Madhya Pradesh and Anand Vihar Terminal of Delhi with LHB coaches which are more safe than normal ICF coaches. The train originally used to run from New Delhi Railway Station before being shifted to Anand Vihar station on 2 September 2012. The train is operated by the Northern Railway zone of Indian Railways on the section which is part of the busy Howrah–Delhi main line. It is, along with the prestigious Shaan - E - Bhopal Express, one of the "first" ISO 9002 certified trains of India because of its security features and high priority on the Indian Railways. But it takes two hours more than Rajdhani Express to cover the same distance. It is also slower than some other Superfast trains in this section, but has one of highest commercial speeds among Non-Rajdhani trains.
Asansol Junction is a railway station of Eastern Railway in Asansol of Paschim Bardhaman district in the Indian state of West Bengal. The station is on the Howrah–Delhi main line. It is the 8th busiest railway station in India in terms of frequency of trains after Kanpur Central, Vijayawada Junction, Delhi Junction, New Delhi, Ambala Cant, Howrah and Patna Junction. Around 171 trains pass through the station daily. It serves Asansol and the surrounding areas.

The 95-kilometre-long (59 mi) railway line operates in Howrah, Hooghly and Purba Bardhaman districts in the state of West Bengal. It is part of the Howrah–Gaya–Delhi line, Howrah–Prayagraj–Mumbai line and the Kolkata Suburban Railway system.

The 12273/74 Howrah–New Delhi Duronto Express is a Duronto class train which operates between the capital of West Bengal, Kolkata and the national capital New Delhi. It is the second Duronto Express connecting Delhi to Kolkata, the other one being the Sealdah–Bikaner Duronto Express. Most of the other Duronto trains take less travel time than their Rajdhani counterparts. Therefore, before the introduction of the Howrah Duronto, it was expected to be the fastest service on the route by many Indian railfans. The Rajdhani Express gets top-most priority on the route, making it the fastest train in the Howrah–Delhi route. But, the Rajdhani continues to be the fastest as both trains cover the same distance and despite being a non-stop service, with no commercial halts, the Duronto takes more time than the Rajdhani. It has been running with modern LHB rakes since 2 July 2021, having a maximum permissible speed of 130 km/h, thus replacing the hybrid LHB Rakes which have a maximum permissible speed of 120 km/h.
The 12259 / 12260 Sealdah - Bikaner Duronto Express is a premium train of the Duronto Express category belonging to Indian Railways - Eastern Railway zone that runs between Sealdah and Bikaner in India.It operates as train number 12259 from Sealdah to Bikaner and as train number 12260 in the reverse direction serving the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan. It used to run as New Delhi - Sealdah Duronto Express and was the first Duronto Express to be launched as announced in the Railway budget of 2008/09. On 24 February 2020, it was extended beyond New Delhi to Bikaner, thereby becoming not only the first Duronto service to Bikaner but also one connecting New Delhi and Bikaner. It was the fastest Duronto Express in India when it operated from Sealdah to New Delhi.

The 12329 / 12330 West Bengal Sampark Kranti Express is the Sampark Kranti Express category train which connects Sealdah in Kolkata and Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi. This train was first announced during the budget session on 2004–05 of Indian Railways by then the Minister of Railways, Nitish Kumar. Thus this train was inaugurated on 11 March 2005 from Sealdah and on 12 March 2005 from Delhi
