Sefwi-Wiawso is a parliamentary constituency in the Western North Region of Ghana. [1] The member of parliament for the constituency is Kwaku Afriyie, who was elected on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2016 elections.

He has been condemned for "promoting hatred" by Ghana's Centre for Popular Education and Human Rights after the minister urged people to report suspected homosexuals. "All efforts are being made to get rid of these people in the society," he said.

Royal Order of the Golden Fire Dog

The Royal Order of the Golden Fire Dog was established in the Royal House of Sefwi Obeng-Mim. The order was founded by His Majesty Chief Oheneba Nana Kwame Obeng II. It is a chivalric dynastic order of merit. The order was created to promote the ancient traditions of Asafo, the protectors of the Kingdom. Members of this royal order, are devoted to aiding the development of the kingdom. The Kingdom of Sefwi-Obeng Mim, dates back to 1935, when the Native Authorities Ordinance was in effect, by H.M. Chief Nana Kwame Obeng I. The Kingdom of Sewfi-Obeng Mim, is a subnational kingdom and is constitutionally acknowledged in Ghana.
