Obuasi West is one of the constituencies represented in the Parliament of Ghana. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election [2]

Kweku Kwarteng is the member of parliament for the constituency. He was elected on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) won a majority of 31,101 votes out of 48,254 to become the MP. [3] He had also represented the constituency in the 4th Republic parliament.
