Nadowli West was one of the constituencies represented in the Parliament of Ghana. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. Nadowli West is located in the Nadowli district of the Upper West Region of Ghana.
The seat was located within the Nadawli District of the Upper West Region of Ghana. Its western neighbour was la Côte d'Ivoire. To the north was the Jirapa/Lambussie District, to the east the Nadowli East constituency and to the south east the Wa Municipal District and to the south the Wa West District.
The constituency changed in 2004 when the Electoral Commission of Ghana changed the initial Nadowli North to Nadawli West and the Nadwoli South to Nadowli East constituency. [1]

Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin is a Ghanaian politician who is the current Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana. He was the Minister for Health in the Ghana government from January 2012 until February 2013 when Hanny-Sherry Ayittey took over the position. He served as the Member of Parliament for Nadowli West constituency in the Upper West Region of Ghana in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th parliaments of the 4th republic of Ghana. He contested for the presidential candidate slot of the National Democratic Congress in 2019 but subsequently lost to former President John Dramani Mahama. On 7 January 2021 Bagbin was elected Speaker of 8th Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
Nadowli District is a former district that was located in Upper West Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988. However on 28 June 2012, it was split off into two new districts: Nadowli-Kaleo District and Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District. The district assembly was located in the western part of Upper West Region and had Nadowli as its capital town.
Wa West District is one of the eleven districts in Upper West Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Wa District in 1988; until two parts of the district were later split off to create Wa East District and Wa West District respectively on July 2004; thus the remaining part was elevated to municipal district assembly status on the same year to become Wa Municipal District. The district assembly is located in the southern part of Upper West Region and has Wechiau as its capital town.
