Sherzhong Gewog (Dzongkha: གསེར་གཞོང་) is a gewog (village block) of Sarpang District, Bhutan. [1] [2] Serzhong Gewog, together with Bhur, Taklai, and Gelephu Gewogs, belongs to Gelephu Dungkhag.

Dzongkha national language of Bhutan

Dzongkha, or Bhutanese, is a Sino-Tibetan language spoken by over half a million people in Bhutan; it is the sole official and national language of the Kingdom of Bhutan. The Tibetan alphabet is used to write Dzongkha.

Gewogs form a geographic administrative unit below dzongkhag districts, and above Dzongkhag Thromde class B and Yenlag Thromde municipalities. Dzongkhag Thromde class A municipalities have their own independent local government body.

Gelephu Airport

Gelephu Airport is located in Samtenling Gewog, about three kilometres from Gelephu town in Sarpang District, Bhutan. The airport has been constructed on an area spanning over 500 acres and came into regular use in late 2017. It is one of only four airports in Bhutan.
