Shahvaran (Persian : شاه وران‎, also Romanized as Shāhvarān and Shāhvaran; also known as Shāhvazan)^[1] is a village in Khandan Rural District, Tarom Sofla District, Qazvin County, Qazvin Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 61, in 19 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script, which itself evolved from the Aramaic alphabet.

Khandan Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in Tarom Sofla District, Qazvin County, Qazvin Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 7,892, in 2,161 families. The rural district has 35 villages.

Tarom Sofla District is a district (bakhsh) in Qazvin County, Qazvin Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 15,409, in 4,145 families. The District has one city: Sirdan. The District has four rural districts (dehestan): Chuqur Rural District, Khandan Rural District, Kuhgir Rural District, and Niyarak Rural District.
