St James is a suburb shared between the Town of Victoria Park and the City of Canning in the Perth metropolitan area.
It was gazetted in 1957 by the then Canning Road Board (now City of Canning) and is named after St James's Park in London. A number of streets in the suburb are named after notable UK Prime Ministers and Members of Parliament (including Palmerston, Walpole and Pitt Streets).. Boundary Road, as the name suggests, defines the boundary between the City of Canning and Town of Victoria Park and is the main east-west thoroughfare in the suburb. The main north-south counterparts are Albany Highway in the east and Berwick Street-Chapman Road in the west.

Albany Highway links Western Australia's capital city Perth with its oldest settlement, Albany, on the state's south coast. The 405-kilometre-long (252 mi) highway travels through the southern Wheatbelt and Great Southern regions, and is designated State Route 30 for most of its length. Outside of Perth the highway is predominately a sealed, single carriageway with regular overtaking lanes in some undulating areas. Albany Highway commences at The Causeway, a river crossing that connects to Perth's central business district. The highway heads south-east through Perth's metropolitan region, bypassed in part by Shepperton Road and Kenwick Link, and continues south-eastwards through to Albany. It intersects several major roads in Perth, including the Leach, Tonkin, Brookton, and South Western highways. The rural section of Albany Highway connects to important regional roads at the few towns and roadhouses along the route, including Coalfields Highway at Arthur River, Great Southern Highway at Cranbrook, and Muirs Highway at Mount Barker.

Mosman Park is a western suburb of Perth, Western Australia on the north bank of the Swan River in the local government area of the Town of Mosman Park. It was historically known as Buckland Hill (1889-1909), then Cottesloe Beach (1909-1930) and again Buckland Hill (1930-1937). From 1937 it was named Mosman Park, derived from Mosman in Sydney, the birthplace of Richard Yeldon, a member of the Buckland Hill Road Board. Mosman Park is now considered an affluent suburb, but prior to the 1970s was one of Perth's major industrial centres.
Bayswater is a suburb 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) north-east of the central business district of Perth, the capital of Western Australia. It is located north of the Swan River, within the City of Bayswater local government area. It predominantly a low density residential suburb with a small town centre lined with shops and a light industrial area to the east. Development in the suburb was first triggered by the construction of the Fremantle-Guildford railway line in 1881. In 1885, Bayswater estate was founded. Since then, the suburb has been almost fully developed, with a population of 14,432 as of 2016.
