State Highway 55 (SH 55) is a State Highway in Kerala, India that starts in Cherkala and ends in Panachikad. The highway is 39.1 km long. [1]

Kerala State in southern India

Kerala is a state on the southwestern, Malabar Coast of India. It was formed on 1 November 1956, following passage of the States Reorganisation Act, by combining Malayalam-speaking regions. Spread over 38,863 km2 (15,005 sq mi), Kerala is the twenty second largest Indian state by area. Cherkala is a small town in Kasaragod district of Kerala state in India, from Kasaragod to Madikeri road 8 km from the capital city of Kasaragod, it is junction towards Bekal Fort, Badiadka, Perla and Madikkery. It is en route to LBS College of Engineering. When you travel to Sullia, Mulleria, Adooru, Aadhur etc. from Kasaragod, you pass through this beautiful small town. You get almost all essentials for life in this small town. Cheroor is a place nearby where you can find hanging bridge(thooku paalam) perfect photographic spot. The bridge is thin and people could only walk across and in between you can find a river (chandragiri). The next tourism spot is Paika which is 8.1 km far. There is a lot of forest at Paika. Through Cherkala route you can travel to Madikeri which is an excellent tourism spot. There are resorts and Hotels at Madikeri which is cheaply available.

Kundara Census Town in Kerala, India

Kundara is a census town in Kerala and is part of Kollam Metropolitan Area, India. Kundara is situated 13 km east of Kollam city, 14 km west of Kottarakkara and 24 km north of Paravur. Kundara is significant for its historic involvement in the Indian independence movement. Kundara was once the industrial hub of Southern Kerala, which was the home to prominent industrial companies including Kerala Electricals Limited, G.V. Chemicals, the Aluminium Industry Limited of Kundara, and the Lakshmi Starch company. Many of these companies have since failed and Kundara is attempting to revive this industrial tradition by developing Technopark Kollam.
