Take a Look Over Your Shoulder is the second studio album by the G-funk rapper Warren G. It was released on March 25, 1997, under his own label G-Funk Entertainment and Def Jam Recordings. It contains the hits "I Shot the Sheriff" (US#20, UK#2), and "Smokin' Me Out" (US#35, UK#14). The album was certified gold in America. The lyrics off the track "Reality" were also used in Prince Igor, a collaboration with The Rapsody and Sissel Kyrkjebø.

Pain Is Love is the third studio album by American rapper Ja Rule, released on October 2, 2001 via The Island Def Jam Music Group, Def Jam Recordings, and Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. Records. The album's biggest hit was the eponymous single "Regulate", a gritty depiction of West Coast gang life which samples singer Michael McDonald's hit "I Keep Forgettin' " and featured Nate Dogg. The album also contained the top ten hit "This D.J." The song "Regulate" was also featured on the Above the Rim soundtrack, which was released on March 22, 1994. An altered version of the song "So Many Ways" appeared in the 1995 film Bad Boys.

One Love is the fourth studio album by French DJ David Guetta, first released in the United Kingdom on 24 August 2009 through Virgin Records. Guetta's first major international release, the album received generally favourable reviews from music critics, and was a commercial success, selling over 3 million copies globally. "Smokin' Me Out" was Warren G's fifth top-40 single, peaking at 35 on the Billboard Hot 100, the song was also a hit in the UK, where it peaked at 14.
