A communications satellite is an artificial satellite that relays and amplifies radio telecommunication signals via a transponder; it creates a communication channel between a source transmitter and a receiver at different locations on Earth. Communications satellites are used for television, telephone, radio, internet, and military applications. As of 1 January 2021, there are 2,224 communications satellites in Earth orbit. Most communications satellites are in geostationary orbit 22,300 miles (35,900 km) above the equator, so that the satellite appears stationary at the same point in the sky; therefore the satellite dish antennas of ground stations can be aimed permanently at that spot and do not have to move to track the satellite.
3G is the third generation of wireless mobile telecommunications technology. It is the upgrade for 2.5G GPRS and 2.75G EDGE networks, for faster data transfer. This is based on a set of standards used for mobile devices and mobile telecommunications use services and networks that comply with the International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000) specifications by the International Telecommunication Union. 3G finds application in wireless voice telephony, mobile Internet access, fixed wireless Internet access, video calls and mobile TV.

Tele2 AB is a European telecommunications operator headquartered in the Kista Science City, Stockholm, Sweden. It is a major telephone operator in Sweden, Russia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Tele2 also has a 25% share in T-Mobile Netherlands. As of 7 September 2021, Tele2 and Deutsche Telekom have opted to rid themselves of T-Mobile Netherlands in a sale for an enterprise value of €5.1 billion.
TV Patrol is a Philippine television newscast produced by ABS-CBN News. It premiered on March 2, 1987 at the former ABS-CBN television network, replacing Balita Ngayon. TV Patrol is the flagship national newscast of the network and is the longest-running Filipino language evening newscast. The newscast is anchored by Bernadette Sembrano, Henry Omaga-Diaz and Karen Davila. Previous anchors include Noli de Castro, Mel Tiangco, Korina Sanchez, Julius Babao, and Ted Failon.
Sirius was a constellation of communications satellites operated at 5.0° East in geostationary orbit (GEO) by NSAB. They carried digital satellite television to the countries of Scandinavia, Baltic states, Eastern Europe and Africa, including the Viasat pay TV system, along with several pay TV packages for Eastern Europe, the TopTV package for Africa, a number of Ukrainian channels and the national Latvian and Lithuanian channel service free-to-air.
Sky Multichannels was a package of analogue television services offered by BSkyB on the Astra satellites at 19.2° east from 1 September 1993 to 27 September 2001, which started off with 15 channels before expanding to over 40.
TeleRadyo is a Philippine pay television channel owned by the ABS-CBN Corporation under the ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs brand, and is available on cable providers throughout the Philippines. TeleRadyo is also included as an exclusive (free-to-view) digital subchannel on digital terrestrial television via the ABS-CBN TVplus service. TeleRadyo is also simulcast via The Filipino Channel (TFC) and it can be heard and viewed online via DZMM's YouTube channel, ABS-CBN Radio Service App and iWant TFC. The channel was previously used to simulcast the programs of ABS-CBN's flagship AM radio station, DZMM 630. At 8:20 PM on May 5, 2020, the station went off the air due to a cease and desist order of the National Telecommunications Commission together with ABS-CBN, S+A, and MOR Philippines. After DZMM 630 kHz was shut down, DZMM TeleRadyo was renamed simply as TeleRadyo. Although it also went off-air a few minutes after, the channel went back on-air and online on May 8, 2020, resuming the programming of the former DZMM. On June 28, 2021, Teleradyo launched a high-definition feed on YouTube and Facebook while selected shows are being broadcast on Kapamilya Channel and The Filipino Channel in HD.
Television began in Sweden in 1954 with test transmissions, prior to the opening of the first station, Radiotjänst, two years later. A second channel was launched in 1969. Commercial television arrived in the 1980s through cable television and in 1992, the country's first terrestrial commercial channel was launched.
Astra 5°E is the name for the Astra communications satellites co-located at the 5° east position in the Clarke Belt which are owned and operated by SES based in Betzdorf, Luxembourg. 5° east is one of the major TV satellite positions serving Europe.
Eutelsat 5 West A, formerly Atlantic Bird 3 is a communications satellite belonging to the operator Eutelsat. Situated at 5° West, it broadcasts satellite television, radio and other digital data. Developed for France Telecom it was transferred soon after its launch to the operator Eutelsat. It entered operational service in early September 2002. Its current anticipated working life is 15 years.

TV-SAT 2 or TVSAT-2 was a West German communications satellite which was to have been operated by Deutsche Bundespost. It was intended to be used to provide television broadcast services to Europe, however it failed before entering service. It was constructed by Aérospatiale, based on the Spacebus 300 satellite bus, and carried five Ku-band transponders. At launch it had a mass of 2,144 kg (4,727 lb), and an expected operational lifespan of eight years.
