Thayer is a village in York County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 62 at the 2010 census.
Thayer was platted in 1887 when the railroad was extended to that point. [4] It was named for John Milton Thayer, a general in the Union Army during the Civil War and a Reconstruction era United States Senator from Nebraska. [5]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.29 square miles (0.75 km2), all land. [6]
