The Turkmenistan Championship is the national hockey championship in Turkmenistan. [2] It involves 8 professional clubs of various ministries, departments and institutions of Turkmenistan. The tournament is held for 3 months in Ashgabat. Competitions are held in two rounds on 28 games each. The teams placing first through fourth place in the championship, will compete with each Cup of Turkmenistan. The first season of the tournament took place in the 2013/2014 year. [3]

The Turkmenistan national football team represents Turkmenistan in men's international football and it is controlled by the Football Federation of Turkmenistan, the governing body for football in Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan's home stadiums are the Ashgabat Olympic Stadium and the Kopetdag Stadium. The team represents FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Sandro Tomić is a Croatian football goalkeeper and currently the goalkeeping coach. Tomić previously played for Hajduk Split and NK Zagreb in the Prva HNL. He was a member of the 1995 Hajduk team which became Croatian champions, as well as becoming Hungarian champion with Debrecen in 2005 and 2006 and winning two Supercups, while with Honved he won Hungarian Cup.

Ahal Änew Football Club, or simply Ahal FC, is a Turkmen professional association football club based in the Änew, Ahal Province. Founded in 1989, the club played its first-ever top flight season in 1992. The club plays its home matches at the 20,000 seater Ashgabat Stadium.

The 2010–11 VHL season was the inaugural season of the Higher Hockey League. It started on September 11, 2010, and finished on February 28, 2011. 20 teams each played 56 games.

The Turkmen Independence Day Parade is one of the main events celebrating the Independence of Turkmenistan from the Soviet Union in 1991. Independence Day is the main holiday of Turkmenistan. The parade is held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan every year and is the largest and most frequent military parade in Central Asia.

There are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Turkmenistan with the totalitarian government being proactive in censoring relevant information. It is however suspected to have spread in the country unreported; specifics are difficult to ascertain and confirm in absence of independent media.

The 2020 Turkmenistan Cup was the 27th season of the Turkmenistan Cup knockout tournament. The cup winner qualifies for the 2021 AFC Cup. The draw of the tournament was held on 13 July 2020. The competition started on 27 October 2020 and finished in December 2020.

Alabay Statue is a gilded statue that stands on Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The 49 feet tall gilded statue, depicts a Alabay dog. The statue was created by Turkmen artist Sargart Babaev with the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow's initiative in 2020.

The 2021–22 Ukrainian Hockey League season is the 30th season of the Ukrainian Hockey Championship. Eight teams participated in the league in the start of the season.
