The Uganda national basketball team represents Uganda in international basketball competitions. It is administered by the Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA). [3]

Contents

Uganda made its debut at the FIBA Africa Championship at its 2015 edition in Tunisia. There, Uganda beat Zimbabwe 72–64 to earn its first victory at the continent's prime tournament.

Outlook

At the AfroBasket 2021 qualification, Uganda had group plays against Egypt, Morocco and Cape Verde. [4]

At AfroBasket 2021 in Rwanda, Uganda had its best performance in history as it reached the quarter-finals where it eventually lost to Cape Verde.

Robinson Odoch Opong is a Ugandan professional basketball player who last played for Rivers Hoopers of the Nigerian Premier League (NPL) and the Basketball Africa League (BAL). He also plays for the Uganda national basketball team.

AfroBasket Women 2019Qualification occurred on various dates in 2019. It was determined which African national basketball teams would qualify for the 2019 Women's Afrobasket. Teams competed against other teams in their respective "zones" for a spot in the Championship tournament.

Keiran St. Charles Alvarez Zziwa is a Canadian-Ugandan professional basketball player for the University of Manitoba in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference. He also represents the senior Ugandan national team.

The 2023 Women's Afrobasket qualification was played on various dates in 2023 to determine the seven teams who qualified for the 2023 Women's Afrobasket. Teams competed with other teams in their respective "zones" for a spot in the championship tournament. There were seven zones in total.

He is the current head coach of City Oilers of the National Basketball League (NBL) and serves as assistant coach for the Uganda men's national team and has been the head coach for a short stint. Playing at guard, Tendo played for Falcons and City Oilers in his career.

Jannon Jaye Otto is an American-Ugandan Professional Basketball Player. She plays for the Uganda women's national basketball team and the spanish side Embutidos Pajariel Bembibre PDM.
