History
The station was first issued a construction permit in March 1984. It signed on in January 1985 as WKTX. It was purchased in August 1990 by Mercer County Broadcasting, headed by Patrick Engrao. For a time, this station was the co-owned sister station of WKTX AM 830 in Cortland, Ohio.
The WLLF call letters originated in 1991, when the station simulcast Youngstown rock station WNCD "The Wolf", then at 106.1 MHz. The call letters have remained on the station since, including when it was a Smooth Jazz outlet.
In April 2010, Cumulus ended the station's long run as "96.7 The River", a satellite-fed adult contemporary format, and launched a new sports format featuring ESPN Radio with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Penguins radio networks. The station also carries a local sports show originating at sister station WPIC 790 AM in Sharon, Pennsylvania. WLLF also carries a variety of local high school and college sports.
On January 2, 2013, WLLF switched its network to CBS Sports Radio, ending its affiliation with ESPN Radio.

The studios are on Wampanoag Trail in East Providence. Established in 1922 as WEAN, the station is the oldest surviving radio station in Rhode Island.

Owned by Audacy, Inc., the station serves the Springfield metropolitan area; and the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts. The WHLL studios are located at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, alongside sister stations WMAS-FM and WWEI, while the station transmitter, shared with WMAS-FM, resides in Springfield's Brightwood neighborhood. In addition to a standard analog transmission, WHLL simulcasts over low-power analog Springfield translator W251CT (98.1 FM) and on the second HD Radio channel of WMAS-FM, and streams online via Audacy.
WDUZ and WDUZ-FM are radio stations serving the Green Bay, Wisconsin area, simulcasting a sports format as "Sports Radio 107.5 and 1400 The Fan." The stations were owned by Clear Channel Communications, though they were still operated by their previous owner, Cumulus Media, who swapped ownership of both stations to Clear Channel in exchange for 2 Ohio stations in early 2009. In August 2013, Clear Channel reached a deal to sell its Green Bay stations back to Cumulus. The sale was consummated on December 31, 2013, at a price of $17,636,643.
