Worthington Hall, now known as the Shawnee Playhouse, was a historic theatre located in Smithfield Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1904. [2]

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. [1] It was delisted in 1986 after being demolished following a fire—caused by arson—on June 24, 1985. [2] With help from the people of Shawnee on Delaware, the Seabees, the Hughes Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, The National Trust, a Community Development Block Grant, and generous donations from many individuals and friends, the playhouse was rebuilt.

Shawnee Methodist Mission United States historic place

Shawnee Methodist Mission was established by missionaries in 1830 in Turner, Kansas to minister to the Shawnee tribe of Native Americans who had been removed to Kansas. In 1839 the mission relocated to Fairway, where it built a brick building referred to by names varying from Shawnee Indian Methodist Manual Labor School. It was one of the first such missions established in the territory acquired by the United States in the Louisiana Purchase. Designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1968, the Shawnee Methodist Mission is operated today as a museum. The site is administered by the Kansas Historical Society as the Shawnee Indian Mission State Historic Site.

Shawnee Park is a municipal park in Louisville, Kentucky. It was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed 18 of the city's 123 public parks. Along with the rest of the city's Olmsted-designed park system, Shawnee Park was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Bushy Run Battlefield United States historic place

Bushy Run Battlefield Park is a historical park that is operated by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) and the Bushy Run Battlefield Heritage Society on 218 acres (88 ha) in Penn Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania in the United States. It was the site of the Battle of Bushy Run fought on August 5–6, 1763 during the Pontiac's Rebellion. The battle was a major victory for the British and enabled them to secure their control of the Ohio River Valley and what was to become the Northwest Territory. Bushy Run Battlefield Park was established as a Pennsylvania State Park in the 1920s and became a National Historic Landmark in 1960. The Visitor Center is open Wednesday through Saturday from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, and Sunday from noon to 5:00 pm, during the months of May–October. The Visitor Center hosts a museum exhibit entitled, "The March to Bushy Run", a theater, a gift shop and battlefield tours. Bushy Run Battlefield Park is the only historic site or museum that deals exclusively with Pontiac's Rebellion. Battle reenactments are held annually on the first full weekend of August. The park is on Pennsylvania Route 993 near Harrison City and Jeannette.

Shawnee Street Overpass United States historic place

The Shawnee Street Overpass is an overpass in Kansas City, Kansas, United States. The bridge allows traffic Shawnee Road to go over South 7th Street, a section of U.S. Route 169. It was completed in 1932; the engineer of the bridge is unknown. It was added to the Register of Historic Kansas Places on August 27, 1983. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 8, 1984.

The Shawnee Lookout Archeological District is a historic district in the southwestern corner of the U.S. state of Ohio. Located southwest of Cleves in Hamilton County's Miami Township, the district is composed of forty-six archaeological sites spread out over an area of 2,000 acres (810 ha). Thirty-four of these sites are located in the 1,000-acre (400 ha) Shawnee Lookout Park, which has been called one of the most beautiful parks in southwestern Ohio.
