The 2003 season was the New York Giants' 79th season in the National Football League (NFL) and their seventh and final under head coach Jim Fassel. The team failed to duplicate their 2002 season's playoff appearance, instead only winning four games and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2001, finishing the season on an eight-game losing streak. [1] Jim Fassel was fired after the 2003 season and was replaced by Tom Coughlin in 2004.

A day after the Panthers' loss to the Dallas Cowboys, general manager Marty Hurney was fired. Until a new general manager was hired, director of football operations Brandon Beane served as interim general manager. In a statistical rarity, the team lost the first 13 of their game-opening coin tosses, an event with a 1 in 8,192 probability. The 2017 New York Giants season was the franchise's 93rd season in the National Football League (NFL), the 8th at MetLife Stadium and the second and final under head coach Ben McAdoo. Coming fresh off an 11–5 season, the Giants hoped to win a Super Bowl and were expected to be playoff contenders by many critics. However, things rapidly fell apart after key injuries, drama, and controversial decisions plagued the team. An 0–5 start to the season, coupled with major injuries to the team, including star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., had the Giants suffer a franchise-worst 3–13 record. By Week 10, after losing to the previously winless San Francisco 49ers, the Giants were standing at 1–8, their worst record since 1980. The Giants were eliminated from playoff contention on November 26 with wins by the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, and Seattle Seahawks, three days after their own loss to the Washington Redskins.

2018 New York Jets season 2018 season of NFL team New York Jets

The 2018 season was the New York Jets' 49th in the National Football League, their 59th overall and their fourth and final under head coach Todd Bowles. Despite starting 3–3, they lost 9 of their last 10 games. In Week 3, the Jets lost to the Browns by a score of 21–17, becoming the first team to lose to the Browns since the Chargers lost 20–17 on Christmas Eve 2016. The win by the Browns ended a 19-game winless streak. Week 6 marked the first season the Jets have scored 40+ points in multiple games since the 2008 season. They were officially mathematically eliminated from playoff contention for the 8th consecutive season after the Titans defeated the Jaguars 30–9 in Week 14. The Jets failed to improve on their 5–11 record from the previous season with a 38–3 blowout loss in Week 17 to the New England Patriots, finishing at last place in the AFC East with a 4–12 record. Following the season finale, the Jets fired Bowles.
