The men's Heptathlon at the 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships took place on 7-8 March 2014.
A heptathlon is a track and field combined events contest made up of seven events. The name derives from the Greek hepta (seven) and ἄθλος. A competitor in a heptathlon is referred to as a heptathlete.
The 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics was the fifteenth edition of the international indoor track and field competition, organised by the IAAF. The event was held between 7–9 March 2014 at the Ergo Arena in Sopot, Poland.

The IAAF World Indoor Championships is a biennial indoor track and field competition served as the global championship for that version of the sport. Organised by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), the competition was inaugurated as the World Indoor Games in 1985 in Paris, France and were subsequently renamed in 1987 as they are known today.
The pentathlon or women's pentathlon is a combined track and field event in which each woman competes in five separate events over one day. The distance or time for each event is converted to points via scoring tables, with the overall ranking determined by total points. Since 1949 the events have been sprint hurdling, high jump, shot put, long jump, and a flat race. The sprint hurdles distance was 80 m outdoors until 1969 and thereafter 100 m; in indoor pentathlon the distance is 60 m. The flat race was 200 m until 1976 and thereafter 800 m. In elite-level outdoor competition, the pentathlon was superseded in 1981 by the heptathlon, which has seven events, with both 200 m and 800 m, as well as the javelin throw. Pentathlon is still contested at school and masters level and indoors.
Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill is a retired British track and field athlete from England, specialising in multi-eventing disciplines and 100 metres hurdles. As a competitor in heptathlon, she is the 2012 Olympic champion, a three-time world champion, and the 2010 European champion. She is also the 2010 world indoor pentathlon champion. A member of the City of Sheffield & Dearne athletic club, she is the current British national record holder for the heptathlon. She is a former British record holder in the 100 metres hurdles, the high jump and the indoor pentathlon.
Clova E. Court is a retired English athlete, who competed mainly in the heptathlon and the 100 metres hurdles. She represented Great Britain in the heptathlon at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. She won a record five AAA Championships heptathlon tiles, and also won the 1994 AAAs Championship 100 metres hurdles title, defeating Sally Gunnell.
Laurien Hoos is a Dutch athlete mainly active at the heptathlon and as a hurdler.
The women's pentathlon at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships was held at the ASPIRE Dome on 13 March.
The men's heptathlon at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships was held at the ASPIRE Dome on 12 and 13 March.
Dafne Schippers is a Dutch track and field athlete. She competes primarily in the sprints, having previously participated in the heptathlon. She is the 2015 and 2017 World Champion and won silver at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the 200 metres.
The men's heptathlon at the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships took place March 9 and 10 at the Ataköy Athletics Arena. 8 athletes from 7 countries participated. American Ashton Eaton won with a world record points total of 6645, breaking his own previous record of 6568.
The women's pentathlon at the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships took place March 9 at the Ataköy Athletics Arena. 8 athletes from 6 countries participated. Ukrainian Nataliya Dobrynska won with a world record points total of 5013, breaking the previous record of 4991 held by Irina Belova.
Sharon Day-Monroe is an American heptathlete and high jumper. She is the 2011, 2013, and 2014 national heptathlon champion, She is also the 2012-2015 national indoor pentathlon champion. She is the first athlete to win four consecutive national championships in the pentathlon. As a junior athlete, she was the 2003 Pan American Junior champion in the high jump and the following year won the bronze medal at the World Junior Championships.
Kevin Mayer is a French athlete. He is the world champion (2017), Olympic silver medalist and world record holder in Decathlon.
Morgan Lake is a British track and field athlete, specialising in multi-event disciplines and the high jump. She is the 2014 World Junior champion in heptathlon and high jump, and the 2015 European Junior champion in high jump.
The 17th IAAF World Indoor Championships was held from 1 to 4 March 2018 in Birmingham, United Kingdom. This was the city's second hosting of the event as it previously did so in 2003.
The 2014 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships was the sixth edition of the international indoor athletics event between Asian nations. It took place at the Vocational and Technical College Athletics Hall in Hangzhou, China, between 15 and 16 February. The city was confirmed as the host in September 2013 at the 77th Council Meeting of the Asian Athletics Association. This was the second time the city held the event, successively following on from the 2012 Championships. A total of 28 nations were represented at the tournament comprising 26 track and field events.

Kai Kazmirek is a German track and field athlete who competes in the decathlon. He holds a personal best of 8580 points for the event achieved in Rio 2016, as well as an indoor heptathlon best of 6173 points. He is a member of LG Rhein-Wied athletics club.
Ana Camila Donatella Pirelli Cubas is a Paraguayan track and field athlete who competes in the heptathlon. She is the Paraguayan record holder in the event with her personal best score of 5733 points. Pirelli holds more than a dozen national records in events as varied as the 100 metres hurdles, shot put and the indoor women's pentathlon. Pirelli was the heptathlon silver medallist at the 2013 South American Championships in Athletics. She won the gold medal at the 2013 Bolivarian Games and the 2014 South American Games, breaking games records at both competitions. Pirelli is tied to Paraguay Marathon Club and competes in Paraguay's national competitions under the Federación Paraguaya de Atletismo.
Ekaterina Voronina is an Uzbek track and field athlete who competes in the heptathlon. Her personal best for the event is 5912 points. She was the gold medallist in the event at the 2014 Asian Games. She is part of the Central Army Sports Club and is coached by Pavel Andreev, a compatriot and fellow multi-eventer.
