Kai Kazmirek (born 28 January 1991) is a German track and field athlete who competes in the decathlon. He holds a personal best of 8580 points for the event achieved in Rio 2016, as well as an indoor heptathlon best of 6173 points. He is a member of LG Rhein-Wied athletics club.
He represented Germany at the 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships, placing sixth. A two-time German champion (decathlon in 2012, heptathlon in 2014), he was also the winner at the 2013 European Athletics U23 Championships.
Born in Torgau, [2] he initially specialised in the high jump and was the 2008 German youth champion in the event. He also competed in the combined events youth championships, coming seventh outdoors and fourth indoors. In 2009 he was indoor heptathlon runner-up at the national junior championships and also came third in the high jump. Outdoors, he placed third in the junior long jump, won in the junior decathlon section of the Mehrkampf-Meeting Ratingen, then claimed a bronze medal at the 2009 European Athletics Junior Championships in a personal best of 7639 points. [3] The year after he won the German junior heptathlon title and improved his decathlon score to 7829 points. He placed sixth at both the 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics and the 2011 European Athletics U23 Championships. [4]
The 2012 Thorpe Cup saw him reach new heights in the senior division. He scored over eight thousand points for the first time and won the competition with a total of 8130 points. [5] He won his first national title in the event but did not gain selection for the 2012 London Olympics as national rivals Rico Freimuth, Pascal Behrenbruch, and Jan Felix Knobel had all performed better on the decathlon circuit that year. Kazmirek improved to 8350 points at the Ratingen meeting in 2013 and followed this up with an 8366-point best to win the gold medal at the 2013 European Athletics U23 Championships. However, again he was ranked outside of the top three nationally and was not selected for the 2013 World Championships in Athletics. He regarded this as a good thing, saying: "We have got a really strong Decathlon squad in Germany and I am really happy about that. We can learn so much from each other...I get an enormous amount from it". [6] Kazmirek ranked ninth in Europe that year. [7]
He opened the 2014 indoor season with a heptathlon best of 6083 points to win the German indoor title. This earned him his first senior international selection and he improved further at the 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships, taking sixth overall with a total score of 6173. [4]
Andrei Sergeyevich Krauchanka is a Belarusian decathlete. He was the silver medallist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. His personal best score of 8617 points is the Belarusian record for the event. He also holds the national indoor record in the heptathlon with 6282 points.
Julia Mächtig is a German heptathlete. She has a personal best of 6430 points for the event.
David Storl is a German track and field athlete who specialises in the shot put. He was successful on the youth and junior athletics circuit, winning gold medals at the World Youth Championships and World Junior Championships. Storl won his first senior medal, a silver, at the 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships.
Yordanis García Barrisonte is a male decathlete from Cuba who competed for his native country at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The 2005 World Youth champion, he is a two-time medallist at the Pan American Games and has competed at the World Championships in Athletics on three occasions. He is the nephew of Yenima Arencibia.
Larbi Bourrada is an Algerian decathlon athlete. He is the four-time African champion and the African record holder in the event. He has also competed in the pole vault, winning the All-Africa Games title in 2011 and two silver medals at the African Championships. In 2012 his doping sample at a competition came back positive for the banned steroid Stanozolol, and he was given a two-year ban from athletics.

The Stadtwerke Ratingen Mehrkampf-Meeting is an annual track and field meeting for decathlon and heptathlon held in Ratingen, Germany. Established in 1997, it is part of the World Athletics Combined Events Tour and takes place in May.
Carolin Schäfer is a German athlete who specialises in the heptathlon. She won the silver medal in the event at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics. Schäfer took bronze at the 2018 European Athletics Championships.

Pirelli holds more than a dozen national records in events as varied as the 100 metres hurdles, shot put and the indoor women's pentathlon. Pirelli was the heptathlon silver medallist at the 2013 South American Championships in Athletics. She won the gold medal at the 2013 Bolivarian Games and the 2014 South American Games, breaking games records at both competitions. Pirelli is tied to Paraguay Marathon Club and competes in Paraguay's national competitions under the Federación Paraguaya de Atletismo.

Ziemek won the bronze medal at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene with a personal best score of 8676 In 2021 he finished 6th at the Tokyo Olympics. He represented his country at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, where he finished 15th. Ziemek finished 7th in the decathlon at the 2016 Olympics.
Mathias Brugger is a German track and field athlete who competes in the decathlon. He was a bronze medallist in the indoor heptathlon at the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships. His decathlon personal best is 8009 points, set in 2015.
David Omoregie is a Welsh track and field hurdler who competes in the 110 metres hurdles. He holds a personal best of 13.24 seconds for the event, fifth best among British hurdlers. He set world junior and European junior records in the 60 metres hurdles indoor.
