The 2018 Liga 3 was the second season of the Liga 3 under its current name, the third season under its current league structure, and the only amateur league football competition in Indonesia. [1]

Contents

The league was divided into the regional stage and the national stage. Every amateur team in Indonesia competed in its provincial stage of the league and the teams which relegated from 2017 Liga 2 competed in the national zone preliminary round. [2]

Persik defeated PSCS 3–2 on aggregate to win their first Liga 3 title.

Player regulations

Teams can register a maximum of 30 players. 27 players were under 23 years old (U-23) and 3 players without age restriction, the teams also could not use foreign players. [3]

National zone route

The following 32 teams entered the national zone route:

There should be 40 teams relegated from 2017 Liga 2 competed in this route, [32] [33] but Pro Duta and Persifa Fak-fak disqualified. On 5 June 2018, PSSI disqualified PPSM Magelang and Sragen United. [34] Also PS Bengkulu, PS Timah BaBel, and Persigubin Gunung Bintang withdrew from the competition. [35] Later on 28 July 2018, PSSI disqualified Yahukimo because they didn't attend match coordination meeting in Gawalise Stadium. A total of 32 teams (20 teams from national zone route and 12 teams from The regional route) compete in this round. [4]

The 2018–19 Piala Indonesia was the seventh edition of Piala Indonesia. It began with the first round on 8 May 2018, and concluded with the finals on 21 July and 6 August 2019. The winner would qualify for the play-off round of the 2020 AFC Cup.

The 2018 Liga 3 Regional Round was played from 24 September to 15 November 2018. A total of 69 teams competed in the regional round to decide 12 of the 32 places in the national round of the 2018 Liga 3.

The 2019 Liga 2 was the third season of the Liga 2 under its current name and the 10th season under its current league structure.

The 2019 Liga 3 was the third season of the Liga 3 under its current name, the fourth season under its current league structure, and the only amateur league football competition in Indonesia.

The 2019 Liga 3 Bali was the fifth edition of Liga 3 Bali as a qualifying round for the Lesser Sunda Islands regional round of 2019 Liga 3. The competition began on 24 September 2019 and ended with a final on 7 October 2019.

The 2019 Liga 3 Regional Round was played from 18 November to 5 December 2019. A total of 81 teams competed in the regional round to decide 26 of the 32 places in the national round of the 2019 Liga 3.

The 2020 Liga 1, also known as Shopee Liga 1 for sponsorship reasons, was the fourth season of Liga 1 under its current name and the 11th season of the top-flight Indonesian professional league for association football clubs since its establishment in 2008. The season started on 29 February 2020 and was suspended on 16 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The season was abandoned and declared void on 20 January 2021.

The 2020 Liga 3 would be the fourth season of the Liga 3 under its current name, the fifth season under its current league structure, and the only amateur league football competition in Indonesia. It was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.

The 2021–22 Liga 1, also known as BRI Liga 1 for sponsorship reasons, was the fifth season of Liga 1 under its current name and the 12th season of the top-flight Indonesian professional league for association football clubs since its establishment in 2008. The season started on 27 August 2021. Bali United were the defending champions from the 2019 season after the 2020 season was abandoned and declared void after three matches due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021–22 Liga 3 is the sixth season of the Liga 3 under its current name, the seventh season under its current league structure, and the only amateur league football competition in Indonesia.

The 2021 Liga 2 was the fifth season of the Liga 2 under its current name and the 12th season under its current league structure.
