The 2023 Big Ten Conference men's soccer season will be the 32nd season of college soccer play for the Big Ten Conference and part of the 2023 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. This was the Big Ten's eleventh season with eight men's soccer teams, as in 2024, UCLA and Washington will join the conference. [1] [2]
The Maryland Terrapins are the defending champions. [3]
Rutgers won the Big Ten men's soccer tournament for the first time in program history, [4] and won their first conference tournament championship since 1997. [5] Maryland won their first Big Ten Conference regular season championship since 2016. MD Myers of Rutgers won bother the regular season and tournament Player of the Year award. [6]
In the 2022 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament, four Big Ten teams received bids into the tournament. Rutgers earned the automatic bid, while Maryland, Ohio State, and Indiana received at-large bids. [7] Maryland and Ohio State reached the second round of the tournament before being eliminated, while Rutgers was eliminated in the first round. [8] Indiana reached their NCAA-record 17th NCAA National Championship game, but lost in penalty kicks to Syracuse in the final. [9]
In the 2023 MLS SuperDraft, Maryland sophomore, Joshua Bolma, was the first Big Ten player to be drafted, selected fourth overall by the New England Revolution. [10]
There were no coaching changes during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's soccer offseason.

The Big Ten Conference is the oldest Division I collegiate athletic conference in the United States. Founded as the Intercollegiate Conference of Faculty Representatives in 1896, it predates the founding of its regulating organization, the NCAA. It is based in the Chicago area in Rosemont, Illinois. For many decades the conference consisted of 10 prominent universities, which accounts for its name. As of 2014, it consists of 14 member institutions and 2 affiliate institutions, with 4 new member institutions scheduled to join in 2024. The conference competes in the NCAA Division I and its football teams compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as Division I-A, the highest level of NCAA competition in that sport.
The Big Ten Football Championship Game is a college football game held by the Big Ten Conference each year to determine the conference's season champion. The game, held after the regular season has been completed, currently matches the top two teams in the conference atandings. It is typically held the first Saturday of December, although in 2020 it was played on the third Saturday of December due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis has been the site of the championship game since its inception in 2011 and is scheduled to host through 2024. Since 2017, the game's official title has been the Big Ten College Football Championship Game Presented by Discover following a sponsorship deal with Discover Financial.

The 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament was the 64th edition of the NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament, a postseason tournament to determine the national champion of the 2022 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The tournament started on November 17 and culminated with the Men's College Cup, the semifinals and finals of the tournament, which was played on December 9 and December 12 in Cary, North Carolina.
The 2023 Big Ten women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Big Ten Conference held from October 29 through November 5, 2023. The tournament was hosted by the higher seeded team for the Quarterfinals and then at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio for the Semifinals and Final. The eight team-team single-elimination tournament consisted of two rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. Penn State were the defending champions, and they were unable to defend their crown, as they lost in the Semifinals to Iowa. Iowa went on to win the tournament with a 1–0 victory over Wisconsin in the Final. The conference tournament title was the second for the Iowa women's soccer program, both of which have come under head coach Dave DiIanni. As tournament champions, Iowa earned the Big Ten's automatic berth into the 2023 NCAA Division I women's soccer tournament.
