The 2008 IIHF World U20 Championship, commonly referred to as the 2008 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, was the 32nd edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship. The elite group, what the IIHF refer to as the Top Division, was held in Pardubice and Liberec, Czech Republic, between 26 December 2007 and 5 January 2008. Canada won the gold medal for the fourth consecutive time. Sweden earned its first World Junior medal since 1996 by reaching the final.

The 2025 IIHF World Championship will be co-hosted by Stockholm, Sweden, and Herning, Denmark, from 9 to 25 May 2025. This decision regarding Sweden was made at the 2018 semi-annual International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) congress in Malta, and was officially announced on 24 May 2019, at the IIHF's annual congress during the World Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia. At the same time, it was announced that Denmark would co-host the championship.

Anna Emily Nix is a German ice hockey player and member of the German national team. She is signed with SDE Hockey in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) through the 2025–26 season.

James Hagens is an American college ice hockey player for Boston College of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). He is considered a top prospect eligible for the 2025 NHL entry draft, and is widely projected to be the first overall pick, and if so, will become the ninth American-born player to be picked first overall, and the first since Jack Hughes in the 2019 NHL entry draft.
