The 59th Filmfare Awards South ceremony honouring the winners and nominees of the best of South Indian cinema in 2011 was held on 7 July 2012 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai, India. [1] For this year more than 451 films from each of the four film industries were considered for nominations in various categories. [2]

Murugadas Arunachalam, known professionally as AR Murugadas, is an Indian film director, screenwriter and film producer who predominantly works in the Tamil film industry. He is best known for directing action films mainly on social issues. In addition, he has worked in Telugu films and Hindi films. Murugadoss won the Filmfare Award for Best Director for his 2014 Tamil action drama Kaththi.

Dookudu is the soundtrack to the 2011 film of the same name composed by S. Thaman with lyrics written by Ramajogayya Sastry, Viswa and Bhaskarabhatla Ravi Kumar. The film starring Mahesh Babu was directed by Srinu Vaitla. The six-song album was released by Aditya Music on 19 August 2011. The album was met with mixed response from critics, but fetched Thaman his maiden Filmfare Award for Best Music Director – Telugu.
