Andrew Phang Boon Leong SC PJG (born 15 December 1957) is a Singaporean judge in the Supreme Court,currently sitting as a Senior Judge.
Phang was born in 1957 in Singapore. [1] Phang received his Bachelor of Laws (first class honours) from the University of Singapore in 1982,before earning his Master of Laws and Doctor of Juridical Science from Harvard Law School in 1984 and 1988 respectively.
Between 1982 and 2000,Phang taught at the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law,and was appointed Professor of Law in 1999. He was appointed Professor of Law at the Singapore Management University (SMU) in 2000,and made Chairman of the Department of Law at SMU's Lee Kong Chian School of Business in 2001.
In 2004,together with Tan Cheng Han,he was one of the first two legal academics in Singapore to be conferred the title of senior counsel. [2] He is presently a Distinguished Professor of Law at the Yong Pung How School of Law and is also a visiting professor at the University of Reading. [3]
Phang was appointed Judicial Commissioner in January 2005,Judge of the High Court in December 2005,and Judge of Appeal on 28 February 2006. [1] At 48 years old,he was the youngest person to have been appointed a Judge of Appeal.
He is one of the leading authorities in contract law in Singapore and the Commonwealth. He was appointed vice-president of the Court of Appeal with effect from 28 September 2017 following his predecessor Chao Hick Tin's retirement.
Phang retired as a Justice of the Court of Appeal on his 65th birthday on 15 December 2022. He was subsequently appointed as a Senior Judge, [4] and,was,in November 2023,honoured by NUS for his contributions to the legal profession. [5] He has authored over 260 publications and 400 judgments. [3] He has been described as a "legal legend and giant." [6]
On 11 April 2024,Phang published a book on former Chief Justice Yong Pung How,a book launched by then Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. [7]

Phang's wife is Phang Sock Yong, [8] an economics professor at the Singapore Management University. [9] He has two daughters. [8] Phang received the Meritorious Service Medal for his legal contributions in 2023. [10]
Lee Hsien Loong is a Singaporean politician and former brigadier-general who has been a senior minister of Singapore since 2024, having previously served as the third prime minister of Singapore from 2004 to 2024. He has served as the secretary-general of the People's Action Party (PAP) since 2004 and has been the member of Parliament (MP) for the Teck Ghee division of Ang Mo Kio GRC since 1991, and previously Teck Ghee SMC from 1984 and 1991.

The Supreme Court of Singapore is a set of courts in Singapore, comprising the Court of Appeal and the High Court. It hears both civil and criminal matters. The Court of Appeal hears both civil and criminal appeals from the High Court. The Yong Pung How School of Law is one of the six schools of the Singapore Management University. It was set up as Singapore's second law school in 2007, 50 years after the NUS Faculty of Law and 10 years before SUSS School of Law. Prior to its establishment as a law school, the school was a department within the School of Business between 2000 and 2007. The school was known as the SMU School of Law until 2021, when it was renamed after former Chief Justice Yong Pung How.

Judith Evelyn Jyothi Prakash is a Singaporean judge in the Supreme Court. Her brother is ambassador Simon Tensing de Cruz. Prakash was appointed a permanent Judge of Appeal of the Court of Appeal of Singapore on 1 August 2016, the first woman to hold this post. During her time on the bench, she was also Judge of the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts, where she heard appeal matters.

Yeo Tiong MinSCPBM (杨忠明) is a Singaporean legal academic. He is the Yong Pung How Professor of Law at the Singapore Management University School of Law and served as its dean from 2012 to 2017. In his time as Dean, Yeo was credited for his role in developing the Singapore Management University School of Law "into a leading law school in Singapore and in Asia." Yeo was succeeded as dean in 2017 by Goh Yihan. At the time he stepped down, Yeo was said to have "been instrumental in developing SOL into a leading law school in Singapore and in Asia". Yeo recently published a new book entitled "Commercial Conflict of Laws".
