The women's long jump athletics events for the 2016 Summer Paralympics take place at the Rio Olympic Stadium from 8 September. A total of 8 events are contested for 8 different classifications.
The competition for each classification consisted of a single round containing the full field. No qualification heats were organised. During competition, each athlete jumped three times, after which the eight best jumped three more times (with the best distance of the six jumps counted towards the final ranking).

The 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships was the biggest track and field competition for athletes with a disability since the 2012 Summer Paralympics. It was held in Lyon, France, and lasted from 20 to 28 July. Around 1,100 athletes competed, from 94 different countries. The event was held in the Stade du Rhône located at the Parc de Parilly in Vénissieux, in Lyon Metropolis.
The women's long jump at the 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships was held at the Swansea University Stadium from 18–23 August.
