Barnstable Harbor is a natural harbor located in Barnstable, Massachusetts that is sheltered by Sandy Neck to the north and the city of Barnstable to the south. The inner harbor is mostly dredged, while the outer harbor is natural.
During the 2014-2015 winter, the inner harbor suffered extensive ice damage to pilings, which were pulled out or snapped. [1]

Well known residents include Bill O'Brien, head coach and general manager of the Houston Texans.

Amrita Island is a small inhabited island in Squeteague Harbor in the village of Cataumet in the town of Bourne, in Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Several residential homes are located on the island. Baxendale Road is the only road and it connects the island to the mainland from Megansett Road.
The Palace of the Porphyrogenitus, known in Turkish as the Tekfur Sarayı, is a late 13th-century Byzantine palace in the north-western part of the old city of Constantinople. An annex of the greater palace complex of Blachernae, it is the best preserved of the three Byzantine palaces to survive in the city, and one of the few relatively intact examples of late Byzantine secular architecture in the world.

Sampsons Island is a 15-acre (6.1 ha) uninhabited, undeveloped barrier island at the mouth of Cotuit Harbor in Barnstable, Massachusetts. It is the location of the Massachusetts Audubon Society's Sampsons Island Wildlife Sanctuary, and it forms part of the Sampsons Island/Dead Neck Island barrier beach system. The island is only accessible by private boat, and is used for recreation and wildlife viewing and preservation.

Barnstable County Hospital was a hospital operated by Barnstable County, Massachusetts which was operational from the late 1800s to 1995. It was located in Pocasset, a village in Bourne. It was used after its closing as a medical examiner's office until 1999, when it was finally closed for good. The hospital was the location of the autopsy of John F. Kennedy Jr., his wife, and her sister after their deaths. Within the county, it was officially run by the Barnstable County Hospital Department, until the hospital was closed on May 1, 1995. In 2003, an agreement was entered which would allow for the creation of affordable housing on the site of the hospital. The site was completely leveled, with the exception of two buildings.
Bournedale is a village in the town of Bourne in Barnstable County, Massachusetts fronting Sagamore Beach, Buzzards Bay and the middle of the Cape Cod Canal. Along with Buzzards Bay and Sagamore Beach, it is one of only three communities in Barnstable County that are north of the Cape Cod Canal.
The John F. Kennedy Memorial is located on Ocean Street in Hyannis, Massachusetts. It overlooks Lewis Bay, where President Kennedy often sailed throughout his life while in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts. It consists of a large stone wall with two bronze medallions, one of President Kennedy's bust profile on the front facing the bay and the other of the Great Seal of the United States on the back, a reflecting pool and fountain, a large concrete terrace, and landscaping. The fountain is lit from the bottom of the reflecting pool, invoking the John F. Kennedy Eternal Flame at Arlington National Cemetery. Inscribed around the reflecting pool is a quote from President Kennedy's Radio and Television Report to the American People on the State of the National Economy on August 13, 1962: "I believe it is important that this country sail and not lie still in the harbor."
