Beautiful Rewind is the seventh studio album by electronic musician Four Tet. It was released on 14 October 2013, by his own record label, Text Records. [1] [2] [3] [4] The song "Kool FM" appears in Grand Theft Auto V on the radio station Worldwide FM.
The album was announced on 22 July 2013. Kieran Hebden hinted that the release of the album would be low-key, stating on Twitter that there would be "no pre order, no youtube trailers, no itunes stream, no spotify, no amazon deal, no charts, no bit coin deal, no last minute rick rubin [referring to Rubin's enlistment by Kanye West to perform last-minute alterations to his recently released album Yeezus ]." Upon its release, Beautiful Rewind received some critical acclaim. At Metacritic, the album has received a score of 79 out of 100, based on 18 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews". [7]
Killian Fox, writing for The Observer , described the album as "an (almost) unexpected pleasure". [12] Fact magazine's Tom Lea offered the opinion that "Beautiful Rewind feels like Four Tet coming full circle" before commenting that "no matter how grubby it gets, at the heart of it will always be one fact: Four Tet's forte is making Beautiful Music." [9] AllMusic reviewer Andy Kellman stated that "while the album does seem rather patched together with a lack of focus... there's an irrefutable charm to the restlessness." [8] In her review for Consequence of Sound , Paula Mejia was disappointed that "the tracks don't necessarily resonate as did the memorable, emotive singles that won over listeners' hearts to begin with on catalogue highlight Rounds ". [18]

Kieran Miles David Hebden, known as Four Tet, is an English electronic musician. He came to prominence as a member of the post-rock band Fridge before establishing himself as a solo artist with charting and critically acclaimed albums such as Rounds (2003), Everything Ecstatic (2005) and There Is Love in You (2010). In addition to his twelve studio albums as Four Tet, Hebden's work includes a number of improvisational works with jazz drummer Steve Reid and collaborations with Burial and Thom Yorke.
Pause is the second album by Four Tet. It was released on 28 May 2001 in the United Kingdom and on 9 October 2001 in the United States. Pause was Four Tet's first release on Domino Recording Company; his debut album, Dialogue, had been distributed by Output Recordings.
Rounds is the third solo album by British electronic musician Kieran Hebden, released under his alias Four Tet on 5 May 2003 by Domino Recording Company. Wanting to make a more personal record, Hebden recorded and produced the album in his North London flat over ten months using a desktop computer and a home hi-fi system. Morning/Evening is the eighth album by British electronic musician Kieran Hebden, released under his alias Four Tet in 2015 by Hebden's own Text Records and via the online music store Bandcamp. As a child, Hebden had inherited a collection of Hindu devotional music from his late grandfather but did not listen to it until his maternal grandmother died during the making of his 2013 album, Beautiful Rewind. After sampling the voice of Indian playback singer Lata Mangeshkar, Hebden was inspired to make a record with a similar structure to Indian music, particularly the raga mode and decided to break the album into a "Morning Side" and an "Evening Side". Alongside the sampled vocals, Morning/Evening contains complex drum programming, electronic sounds and manipulated found sounds.

Folktronica is a genre of music comprising various elements of folk music and electronica, often featuring uses of acoustic instruments – especially stringed instruments – and incorporating hip hop, electronic or dance rhythms, although it varies based on influences and choice of sounds. Wenu Wenu is the debut studio album by Syrian singer Omar Souleyman, released on 21 October 2013 on the American independent record label Ribbon Music. Although at the time of the album's release he already had a 20-year career and an extensive catalog of self-published live recordings, it is technically his first studio offering. Souleyman specializes in the dabke genre, which is typical at Levantine wedding parties, and his unique take on the genre—known for its electronic, minimalist sound—began to catch the attention of Western avant-garde and club music audiences after being included in bootleg compilations on the Sublime Frequencies label beginning in 2006. Following this, the singer started touring internationally, and his studio debut was preceded by collaborations with established Western acts such as Björk, Caribou and Damon Albarn.
